He done very well at Cincinatti. Not sure what has happened here.
Yeah that's trueIt's easy. At Cincinnati he had a line to protect his QB and RB. At Kentucky, he doesn't.
Yeah. As a head coach you have to fire people that don't get the job done. He's kept a few on his staff that should have been cut loose. Now his job is at stake. It's not on Gran or Hinshaw. In reality, I don't really think it's on Stoops outside of the fact that everything falls on the head coach, either. It's on Schlarmann and Eliot. Unfortunately, it looks as though Stoops may be going down with them because he didn't fire them last year.

I'm afraid your right buddy. I know your a knowledgeable poster. What do you think they should try to do from this point? I can't think of anything besides find a new coach at the end of the seasonHe has use UK players here. Was predictable. It's going to get worse for him and not his fault.
No. No. Just...no.Could Gran be a better motivator, delegator and organizer than Stoops? Could Gran utilize the talent Stoops has recruited to build his own recruiting momentum with a new staff under him?

How can it be on Schlarmann? He just got a raise![]()
Probably. Stoops very first mistake as UK head coach was not retaining Summers as OL coach. Hindsight, yes, but that guy had proven track record of coaching up and molding individuals into units. IMO.

I was to but then again I was glad when Dawson left town.I was worried after the UC bowl game last year.
As Bill Curry used to say , " mind boggling " .How can it be on Schlarmann? He just got a raise![]()

How much more time do you suggest for them to get established????
- If we don't want to break with tradition we should fire our coach and hire a brand new one like we have never tried that before. Lets see: Joker Phillips, Brooks, Guy Morris, Hal Mumme, Jerry Claiborne, John Ray, Charlie Bradshaw, Curcci, Blanton Colliure.
- Another possibility would be to give this staff some more time to get established . That would give our coaches more experience and not have to pay a coach to not coach. Just a thought.
Ten years should do it, no more than that. I think every coach on staff have been recommended by someone thats been in football and pretty much knowledgeable. How much more time do you suggest for them to get established????
Ten years?! Lol I'll have to respectfully disagree with you.Ten years should do it, no more than that. I think every coach on staff have been recommended by someone thats been in football and pretty much knowledgeable.
Its going to take some time, more than any other SEC team. UK is a special case in that they are a traditional Basketball School playing in the toughest traditional football conference.
Kentucky has fewer high schools that play football than any other SEC conference school. Difficult to recruit and thats not going to change
You can turn that around using Basketball instead of football and you would have the opposite effect.
All the other SEC schools care less about basketball thus the one sided wins and losses by Kentucky over the rest of the league.
The reason that most SEC coaches are highly recommended is that they stepped into an established program unlike UK., for example Alabama LSU, Georgia, Tenn., Texas A&M etc.
thats rather interestng. what programs in the last 30 years took 10 years to become successful?Ten years should do it, no more than that. I think every coach on staff have been recommended by someone thats been in football and pretty much knowledgeable.

What do you consider successful.? Its taken UK more than 10 years and still not there. I would add Indiana, Kansas, Colorado, UAB, .Wyoming, Baylor, TCU.thats rather interestng. what programs in the last 30 years took 10 years to become successful?
you are suggestng we should give the coach 10 years, so I'm asking you to show an example where that worked somewhere else. then you showed examples of where it hadn't been tried. so I guess it's never worked anywhereWhat do you consider successful.? Simple. The head coach is trashHaha sounds like the same stuff people were saying about Neal Brown and Shannon Dawson. Yet the later beat the hell out of us last week and the other almost beat Clemson at Clemson today.
