Although EF is down by only two possessions, it feels as if Hough has this game in control. Hough completly shut down EF run game so far. EF has thrown the ball every play for the last 3-4 possessions I believe. You're not going to beat a team like that.

They keep trying to ground and pound Hough in the trenches when they do run, and that is not going to work. Hough is bigger and stronger. You're going to have to get creative here.

EF defense so far has really kept them in the game. They got a pick late in the second half to set EF up with a score and EF missed the FG. Every point matters in this game and those 3 points are costly.

If Hough continues to dominate EF oline and EF isn't able to run, this game could get ugly in the second half.

I've seen few bubble screens or jet sweeps from EF. They've gone away from their game.

Still close. Ur defense still didn't give up a TD. If u can score in the 3rd and hold Hough to 16...4th will b interesting

Some teams like Chambers you know they’re explosive on offense and aggressive and tough on defense. Hough just seems to grind you into submission. Nothing real explosive. Do they go downfield much?
That's what they're doing against EF. Just grinding them down. But they don't look particularly explosive.

Yup. I know understand what you were talking about when you said just keep it close because they don't seem like they can score quick.
I’ve have hardly ever seen them but they don’t seem explosive at all.

I wouldn't say huge, but I do think Hough on paper is two touchdowns better than EF. With that being said, these teams have never played each other so the element of surprise could work in EF favor (could also work against them) and maybe they can put some quick points up. I'm cautiously optimistic about EF chances.
Welp...

I think I have an analogy. Chambers is a hot cup of coffee to give you energy and wake you up in the morning. Hough is like a glass of warm milk late at night.

Next week we're gonna give them a playoff wake up call...out the playoffs. We're coming.

Definitely. EF forgot what is feels like to play in the 4AA lol. I'm kidding of course, but strength and conditioning was the big difference tonight imo.

They got some studs returning next season though. Good luck to Chambers next week.
Strength and conditioning had zero to do with it. You can condition all you like if your D plays 85 percent of the snaps and is put in bad spots most of the night you're losing.

To lose by only 12 with 10 pts the result of turnovers our D was championship caliber tonight and most of the year.

Our strength and conditioning is with the best of them. Sometimes it's schematics.

Sometimes the other team is just better. Hough was better tonight. Two best teams in the state will square of for the defacto state title in the West 4a final like they do nearly every year.

Schematics don't have much to do with getting blown off the line every play. That's the strength part of strength and conditioning that the players need to work on.

What I seen was almost ever possession the qb running for his life having to throw under duress and the backs losing yards each play because by the time they get the ball Hough already blew through the backfield.

Defensively EF did a great job, but Hough was able to put themselves in great field position to get 3 points multiple times. They literally grinded to victory by being more physically imposing.

Again it wasn't the strength and conditioning. I'm close enough to the program I promise you to know that back in 12 Butler and 15 Creek we've had basically the same strength and conditioning.

Before we started getting the "joes" we get now it was our strength and conditioning that kept us in games. Besides the conditioning part carries no logic because by the time you're playing in this round of playoffs even if your conditioning in practice socks you've played your way through a season into shape.

We've been commended by universities how our players have come into some universities prepared.

Sometimes it's schematics and other times even if your strength and conditioning is on part the other across from you is just better.

Schematics could've helped some of that on O last night.

Rarely have we ever been out matched physically and if we have it's not always your strength and conditioning isn't good but you just get picked apart sometimes. It happens. Our strength and conditioning could've been the reason why we were in the game at all instead of getting our butts handed to us at least defensively.

That Eagle Defensive Unit was something special this year. Not bad for a school of 1600 kids to go in and compete with the largest schools in the state and shut some of them down Offensively. If this was last year in 4AA/4A this is a 4A championship Team. Great season Eagles
