This is beyond stupid. Mike Reilly is not on the hot seat. He inherited a team with no depth, lacking the talent he needs to run his schemes, that has been decimated by injury, and a divided locker room. No coach could put together a great team at Nebraska this year.
Look, it sucks to be 2-3. But whether we run the clock out at Illinois or lose the game, we're the same problem ridden average team. Winning the game at Illinois doesn't make us a better team. In a year when we weren't going to compete for a big 10 title regardless, winning at Illinois is ultimately meaningless. This year should be about getting better, not whether we squeak out wins against bad teams. Let's aim to be a good team again and build rather than how many wins we get. If we become a good team, the wins will take care of themselves
