They are bad. 8 wins, 36 losses. It's going to be tricky getting this one in tomorrow. 80% chance of storms, with, perhaps, a lull between noon and 3pm. The severe stuff comes late afternoon/early evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm.

My 6th sense saying we don't play

Weird. I checked earlier and it looked like we’d play. Looked like any significant rain chances were not until later in the evening. Hmph, it will probably snow.

This series with ND is critical to both teams, and unfortunately it is being played at a time when the Irish are playing their best baseball of the year. The potential double bye in the ACC Tournament is at stake for several teams. UL needs to call EKU and see if we can workout an arrangement where the Tuesday game is cancelled.

UL needs to focus on the Thursday trip to South Bend.

It would probably need to be moved at least 2 hours up.

Agree, this one does nothing for either side.

I expect to see the same group of guys pitching as last Tuesday. Of course, we really need to win. Goes without saying really.

All they have to do is stay in the strike zone and we will win easily. If we walk 19 batters like we did at UK …… oh well that could be a problem.

Regrettably our pitching is doing it again; most of these kids cannot throw strikes; it’s not the norm for most D1 schools.

That game was more uncomfortable than it should have been. FSU hangover? Maybe. Big lead early then slept walk rest of the game? Could be. Pitching sucked? Yes.

Throw. *******. Strikes.

Once again I must confess that Sean Moth is fast becoming a great resource for perspective about UL Baseball. Yesterday Sean prefaced his comments by acknowledging ā€œthat it was not his position to question the coachesā€, before doing just that. Sean preceded to ask why the coaches cannot get these pitchers to throw strikes?

As for me, I believe that Roger and Dan have each forgotten more about baseball than I will ever know, and I do not minimize that fact when I question what value there can be, with their allowing these kids to stay in the game when it is evident they have absolutely zero command of the strike zone? I fail to see where the kid learns anything from remaining in the contest when he has no control of where his pitches are going. There have been multiple instances where these kids are throwing 4 consecutive pitches out of the zone when facing hitters with batting percentages below the Mendoza line.

Thinking about making the trip down from Columbus for the Vandy game but I don't want to watch the arms we have been sending out on Tuesday. Dilemma - would the home GA Tech series be a better bet? I am guessing Mac's thinking right now is the away GA Tech series is much more important; hence we may get clobbered by Vandy. Any ideas?

I see it the same way; these mid week games are potentially a distraction to double bye qualifiers for ACC tournament.

I think he’ll get more focus for Vandy. They are (at least they were) ranked. $EC opponent. At home. I think we’ll get a good effort.

The Georgia Tech series is on the road. The only remaining weekend home series is against Wake Forest from May 15-17.

Part of the problem is the weekend staff can’t get 5-6 innings. That forces a bunch of arms to be used over the weekend. The weekdays games get the bottom of part of the staff. You can get wildly inconsistent performance.

This isn’t a traditional staff. They used to have 4 legit starters. One would work the weekday games. I am not sure any of these guys are legit weekends starters.
