Anyone see the video of the elephants at the San Diego Zoo forming a protective circle during the earthquake? Pretty cool.

Giraffes would never do that, because giraffes are selfish.
I have my family and dogs do that around me. It makes me feel strong and unselfish.

Elephants are one of just a handful of creatures who can emit and pick up on infrasound (sound below 20 hz).
Earthquakes also emit infrasound, so they may have thought they were being threatened by another herd of Elephants or some large apex predator like a Tiger which also can emit infrasound.
I saw a tv show years ago about elephants forming a circle and walking around a dead member of the herd continuously and it almost looked ritualistic like a funeral and they were paying their last respects.
