When you think his face can't get more punchable, he goes and says something like this. I hope someone asks him if he makes more than his BIL...which I'm sure he does.

It is funny that a guy getting paid millions to coach football sounds like he's criticizing guys getting paid to play football. This won't help with recruiting that's for sure.
I get the hypocrisy. But at least the coach spent years climbing the ladder and has had some success as head coach. Saben said he wasn’t giving a dime to a recruit who has accomplished nothing on the college stage. Crazy what some programs are spending on high school players

Let him make perfectly valid points. You are sour about him because he has owned us both at APP State and now Missouri. JUST WIN and let him then make valid points. IT is professional Sport you know, the same as the Gymnast from LSU Olivia Dunne, the same as Ana Kournikova or Paige Spiranac. Millionaires at 18 for Social Media Clout or undeveloped Football skill. Don't get me wrong, now that NIL is the rule of the road, I want more dollars to pay the players more than anyone else so we can win and win big all the time. But there is no doubt, that the game has lost some luster. In the past, a loss would require digging deeper to manufacture a win next week. Now they cash a check, get in their expensive cars, and worry about how the lose impacts their earning status. High schoolers will be next. Mark my words.

In other words, college football is now a professional sport!

I don't know - now a coach can say: "you think you're earning your $50K?!? You want to earn that next year too?!?"

Guarantee no one on Deion's team is collecting a check and not worrying about how they're going to keep it.

Don't love the guy as a coach, but NIL combined with the transfer portal has things way out of hand. It's now easy to poach and schools who can produce great NIL deals (schools who always have more money and support anyway) will pull further away from schools like South Carolina and Missouri.

Not just for football.... The mid-majors are totally screwed because now anytime they get a kid who proves to be really well will want to "play up"..... no more cinderella teams. Look at what LSU has done with women's hoops. They've gotten the best transfers because they get NIL deals before they leave campus. It's my understanding that one of the best transfers for next year visited LSU and then cancelled a scheduled visit to USC/Dawn Staley because of NIL.

They say you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube... but I believe you can. What Drink said about transfers makes sense: mandate that you can only transfer without sitting out if coach leaves etc.

Right you are. I have suspected IMG of doing some big money things to poach off high school kids from their local high schools/communities. I suspect there has been some $$ hank panky going on if the rug were to be pulled back.
