anyone have a home elliptical that they'd recommend? I've looked up a lot, but haven't really even narrowed anything down.

Thanks.

I would guess within 3 months or less, mostly less, 90% of people who buy those, or treadmills, end up using them for coat hangers. Staring at one right now, sweet hanger, if only it didn't cost a grand. BUT, no complaints from me, my wife got into a fitness kick and shaped her little bod up quite nicely and now she walks outside, so I think of it as a thousand dollar hottie maker.

Sidenote, and very much OT, but have you had any luck with indoor bike trainers, @litespeedhuskerfan ? Can't get into the exercise bike, and would much rather ride my own. It's single speed, not sure if that makes a difference with those things.

I have the finest trainer money can buy with about 3 hours on it. If you want it, and live in Omaha, sweet deal waiting for you. Cyclops Fluid trainer.

Single speed doesn't matter.

I bought it to warm up for my road races I used to be into, hence the low hours. But they are a good exercise, just not for me.

I generally agree with Litespeed when it comes to home gym equipment gathering cobwebs in the basement. But I bought a Street Strider elliptical bike that allows me to ride outside, and I've ridden hundreds of miles on it over the past year. They're a bit pricey, but I have no regrets about buying it. Assuming it holds up mechanically, I plan to ride it for many, many years. You need to live somewhere with good trails or wide bike lanes, however, since you don't want to ride it in much street traffic. I still have a regular bike that I use for commuting and for longer rides, but this gives me a totally different kind of workout while still allowing me to get outdoors:

Have Cyclops fluid trainer too Litespeed. Only thing I use it for now is training the kids on how to use clip less pedals. Works awesome just not for me

Check Craigslist. Ellipticals treadmills always on there cheap

I actually bought a low end elliptical from walmart a few years ago and have used it quite a bit. It got decent reviews and I figured I wouldn't be out much if I didn't use it. I like it. Think it's some kind of Golds Gym model.
