What should I make of this? Just a guy advancing his career with a better program and reuniting with
a trusted former H.C. in Porter Moser (after 1st Ast. takes Loyola job) or is their more involved? Any
interest by University in hiring an Athletic Director while I'm at it?

Nice find. I think it's likely the first scenario you presented. If your goal is to be a head coach someday it's better to have some tournament experience and winning seasons on your resume. And now it gives him experience in two P5 conferences (BIG and BIG XII). Move makes sense (other than living in Norman).
