Baseball should be pretty good so a nice buffer until football, this staff couldn’t coach a middle school team.

Joe and Kelly Craft, or whoever actually run the athletic department, need to stop this charade of Mitch Barnhart being in charge. He has presided over the downfall of the greatest college basketball program of all time. He is an utter embarrassment and would resign if he had any shame at all. This is pitiful. I’ll never give this athletic department a dime until he is gone.

I like Mark Pope as a human being. I liked Mark Pope as the captain of the 1996 championship team. I do not like Mark Pope as our head coach. This is not a well designed team… this is not a well coached team. This is all system failure. If Pope wasn’t one of our own we’d all be saying what I’m about to say… Mark Pope needs to be fired.

I dont feel bad for Coach at this point. He's in over his head. I do feel bad for his beautiful family that is not working out here. 😔
You feel bad they are not employed out here, or feel bad that it's not working out for them out here?

And that’s EXACTLY why he shouldn’t have been hired with an unproven resume. Being “one of us” makes it harder to do what is necessary when an unproven coach fails miserably. F you Mitch

Lol true UK “fans” at its finest. Wishing for their “favorite” team to fail and hoping they lose. Love it.
Mark Pope is not the man for this job. He will never accomplish anything and this still may very well be an NIT year. A last second shot over LSU doesn’t suddenly make this a good team. A reasonable person understands that losses have to pile up in order to move Mark Pope out out of here one way or the other.

Pope is overwhelmed and has a lot to figure out, no question. I’m not a pope fan atm. But for any said “UK fan” rooting for the demise of this team, or any for that matter, is not a fan. To quit watching and get on blogs to lambast a team like countless threads on here when there losing, well, is ridiculous.

Ever heard of ripping off the band aid? Sometimes it’s necessary to accept if not welcome losses as a means to an end. Would you rather BCG do just enough to keep his job, or crash and burn so that we get Cal 2010-2015? I swear, some of you homers are so eager to accept mediocrity when we don’t have to

Tell me more about ripping off a band aid? How does one do it? Your analogies are trash to make you feel comfortable in trashing your team you “love.” My posts are very succinct. I wanted pope (heck any coach for that matter) to succeed. Pope probably needs to be fired at the end of year barring a turnaround, which tonight is a start. It has nothing to do about mediocrity, rather about rooting for a team you love. Bandwagon fans as yourself rooting for this team and a coach who won a championship prior, to lose, is downright insane. Why would any (future) exceptional coach accept the UK job when dozens of fans want to run out said coach at the first moment of adversity?

On3 gained a bunch of emotional losers I see.
The old Rupp Rafters would never allow this **** 20 years ago
Yeah, okay boomer. Clearly looking at your posting you lack any credible thought and intellectual thought, so this is moot. I’d assume you’re one of those “I’m done watching UK basketball until Mitch and Pope are fired!” right? Enjoy the win tonight ;)

You’re right. Things are looking great for next year already with all our incoming recruits and portal studs. With all the success this year, I can only imagine how bright UKs future is lol

I think it’s too early to give up on Pope. Let’s not kid ourselves. We all thought that he had put together a great roster before the season started. Even the so called experts thought so.

Injuries have no doubt hurt, but, some of the portal additions just aren’t as good as we thought. It happens,

Now, he better pick and choose very wisely for next season, because if he doesn’t, he won‘t get a fourth season.

Remember, that Calipari couldn’t get out of the second round his last 4 seasons here.

It's been this way for a VERY LONG TIME. When the team is down, even temporarily there's a competition between fans among the Legion of Doom (LOD) that have to out b*#$% each other for the most over-the-top, catastrophic outcome. 30 years of seeing it online doesn't lie.

It's the whiniest, softest sht you ever did see, and it is relentless. When called on it they will double down. When they are proven wrong, they will just tell you the team or coach "got lucky," or "the SEC" is down this year... You can't win with em

Rip the Band-Aid off to early and the wound continues to bleed. Us being awful and self imploding isn’t the answer. No coach we would want would want to come here if the program was in that state, recruits wouldn’t come either when they can make the same money elsewhere without the expectations and scrutiny. A self implosion would bleed the program out for easily 2-3 years minimum before anything was “better” it’s not like you implode and magically our top candidate wants to come here and stud players are lining up. Quite the opposite would likely happen.

Add to the difficulties with injuries to key players the FACT that the officials are letting teams beat the sht out of our players without a call, while calling us for brushing against a player in similar circumstances, and you have a disastrous result.

There's no question that just having one of the highest paid rosters puts a target on our backs, but when it says Kentucky on the front that makes it even worse with the refs that already have it in for us like Shows and the rest. They're petty tyrants doing the ncaa's and vegas' bidding with no oversight and no fear of repercussions.

This older crop of officials has turned, and is nothing more than rotting flesh in a skin suit.

I hate to have to constantly correct this revisionist history, but BCG wasn’t fired for wins and losses. He was fired for his behavior off the court and refusing to sign a formal contract.
