My son recently graduated from WVU with a degree in petroleum engineering. I know the market is low right now, but if anyone is aware of where he could submit a resume it would be greatly appreciated. He's submitted resumes to probably 25 companies, but, if someone could steer him to a potential opening he hasn't already sent one to, he would be grateful. Thanks

Antero Resources in Bridgeport is looking to eventually expand, although not sure if they're hiring right now. I would definitely do a nationwide search because there just aren't very many engineering jobs (unless you are a software engineer) in this area and he will most likely have to move out of state to find a job. I'd definitely try applying to jobs in Houston.

Is he unwilling to leave the State ?? I have no clue as to the kind of demand there is for petroleum Engineers within state borders, but it seems to me he'd need to look somewhere other than WV for legitimate amounts of employment.

He's sent resumes to firms nationwide. It's just that firms had been laying off in that field. Now the worm is turning and they are starting to hire again due to some political landscape changes expected to come. He's also on a national engineering database for job seekers. He has no problem moving anywhere.

Also, I'm aware the tentacles of this board span well outside the state of WV. I wasn't implying WV only. Would be nice to get his base close to home starting out to build a financial base, but by no means is that a deal breaker. I know there is a lot of natural gas to be harvested here and surrounding areas. Rogersville Shale(WV, PA, OH, KY, MD, NY) exploration has been put on hold due to the downturn of prices, but that is cyclical and is starting an uptick.
