It's sad how far support for college basketball has fallen. Like 20% of the lower arena seats are empty for a matchup featuring a number one seed team that made the Final Four last year. Sad.

Ticket prices are getting out of hand. Id love to be in Nashville, but cant afford the prices. Price will be the down fall of all sports in general.

The seats are sold. Most of the empties are fans of the other semi teams playing the second game.

Most of the Conference Tournaments that I have watched this year has been so many Empty Seats. That is why we do hear talk of sending UK to Houston in the South Region after the 2nd and 3rd round in Louisville instead of Midwest and Cleveland. They know no matter where they send Kentucky that there will be a sold out arena and Hoston is a Dome and they UK would fill it up! I know this isn't going to happen and it will be the Midwest at the YUM and then Cleveland but just saying I could see the Committee talking about it.

It's odd how a team that beats Purdue in the Big whatever gets bumped up to a #1 seed instead of Arizona. I think Notre Dame was so impressive against Duke that they deserve a look at #1. But alas, the committee is too lazy and out of touch they won't even consider some of these championship games. If ND wins the ACC, they'd look really good as a #1 candidate. But, alas.

It is even worse in the smaller conferences. Did you see the crowd at the Memphis/Temple game yesterday? It looked like only the parents showed up to watch their 11 year olds play AAU. It was pretty pitiful.

The same can be said for football, but you rarely see light crowds for big college football games.

Being a fan that loves college basketball, it sucks seeing the lack of overall fan support for the sport this year. The turnouts for some of the early season tournaments was putrid. I don't get it. I don't buy the one and done theory....there's only like five to six of those guys each year.

The networks pay a fortune for the television right. The schools want to rape and pillage on the ticket prices. Unless you're a millionaire your view is better on your HDTV at home. Pretty soon a large number of teams are going to get extreme push back or play in empty arenas. I haven't been to a Kentucky game at Rupp in years because the price of the product is no longer of value to me. I can't afford to see us play a good team and I don't want to pay $40 to see us beat up on Buffalo.
