Hearing that a letter was sent out informing 4 schools that 7 teams were pulling out of the I-8.. left behind are Plano, Sandwich, Streator and Westmont.. if true, has to be another school lined up to make 8.. Pontiac?
I mean does Morris make more sense now? Maybe?
You are 100% correct there. Dont know why, but they are getting their wayThis all is being done to appease Reed Custer and Wilmington it seems..
If Plano and Sandwich co-op, does HOLD THE MA-YO become a famous cheer?Maybe they could all coop and be the 6th member?
Big divide on adding/subtracting teams from the Conference. Some wanted to go bigger with bigger teams, others wanted to stay small and keep Westmont when Westmont brings nothing to the conferenceI'd love to hear the reasons behind all this. The I-8 has been a pretty salty small school conference in a few sports over the years. Would be a shame to see it go.

I know for a fact that Wilmington voted against adding MorrisNot calling you a liar or wrong, I don't regularly talk with anyone affiliated with the school. I don't understand why Wilmington would balk at adding a school like Morris. Other than football, Morris sports are not world beaters. They are just pretty solid all around IMO. In Wilmington's stronger years, I think they could compete with Morris football pretty well actually. Wilmington has also sought out strong non conference opponents over the years when available. None of this makes sense and I agree with Coaler that Westmont brings little to nothing to the league.

Lisle is fine with the core of the I-8
They should dump Lisle and go with a 6 team conference. It is out of the way.
Maybe Westmont and Lisle could join with all the public schools in the metro that will soon be bailing out of that conference.
Ever traveled 294 on a Friday afternoon/evening?Elmwood Park
Fenton
Ridgewood
Riverside-Brookfield
Lisle
Westmont
Not a bad mix, travel isn't too bad either. Although, Ridgewood to Westmont/Lisle isn't a piece of cake. Although I-294 isn't too far.
Its called being open with the public HHS. Please tell me all the state championships Herscher has won since they are such the dominate force in the I8. Don't you have some grass to mow or some bushes to trim??6 are acting together, typical Coal City they need to grandstand with special board meetings etc... If no Coal City, they will either stick with 6 or add two others.. if Coal City wants to take their average athletic program to a bigger conference, thats their choice..

HHS its called being transparent, not asking the public if they can. I am not on here putting down everyone elses programs in the I8 like you, well just CC because of your deep hatred for them. Did someone from CC stiff you on a bill from you mowing their lawn?? Why so salty towards CC??They needed public opinion to determine if they should explore other options for their kids??? Funny that 6 schools could handle it, Coal City needs hold that "special" board meeting.. guess other 6 were smart enough to do it at their regular board meeting???
Nobody said anything about state championships other than you, but the last 10 years CC athletics have been pretty mediocre.. maybe a "special" board meeting could solve that dilemma too?????
Laughing?? Because they want to let parents know and get feedback before making a major move? That sounds like being a responsible school board HHS. I mean I dont know who wouodng want to legt the parents know about a move like that. It's just the general vibe that most of the conference gets from Coal City, there are plenty of people within the other schools laughing at the "special" board meeting..

When you make a decision to leave a Conference and be a part of a new one, yes it's a pretty big deal. I don't care what the other schools do, I'm glad CC school board is transparent
Good for them. We appreciate the fact that our board is involved in the decision. It's too bad that representative government working like it's supposed to is upsetting to you.
