this thread is for everyone who has seen the movie and want to discuss Easter eggs, moments, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I personally loved this movie. Sure there were some things I didn’t like, but as a whole this movie was a great fan service for those of us who have watched this develop over a decade. Iron man is the face of the MCU and though he wasn’t my favorite, I found myself bawling during his end scene. Just so sad and yet so satisfying. Cap got his happy ending which made me happy. The final battle was on a whole new epic scale and was beautiful to watch the carnage and breakdown. Nat’s Death was underwhelming for a character who means almost as much as Tony. Cap and Hawkeye were the focus of this movie and they hit it outta the park. Just so much to talk about. Epic movie. Oh and I was very happy Cpt Marvel had very lil screen time.

Wife and I saw it yesterday. We both liked it but didn’t like the new Hulk character(stupid actually). Have no interest in seeing Capt Marvel but I honestly don’t think she needed to even be in this one.

Agree with your perspective on Romanov’s death.

Overall it was a good flick that became a study in mortality about characters most felt were immortal.

Cap’s time travel didn’t fit the rules that had been established, but other than that it was great.

Read something that Loki recapturing the Tesseract, and disappearing, set him up for some TV series? Is that right?

Correct, they announced a Loki series on Disney+ streaming service. Rumor is that it's gonna be prequel, but unknown. They're also doing a wandavision, Hawkeye, and Winter Soldier/Falcon show.

Oh no Captain Marvel is a girl and super powerful. How dare her. [eyeroll]

My favorite scene was the elevator call back from Winter Soldier.

Definitely giving it a thumbs-up. They pulled off a decent story, and tied up loose ends, along with several interesting twists... better than I expected.

The amount of humor was off the chart... especially with Thor. About 2/3 of the jokes really landed.

The nods to the previous films were great. The Cap vs. Cap scene was excellent. I also enjoyed seeing the Ancient One in action.

I have not seen the Capt. Marvel movie, but her role in Endgame doesn't make me feel like I missed any major piece of the puzzle. Thought the GRRRL POWER moment with all the females coming together to do their best Beyonce strut was a bit much.

While I enjoyed Cap's happy ending, it didn't fit the time travel rules that were stated within the film. Plus, it is contrary to the selfless character that CA has established... though I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to plow Peggy Carter for a lifetime.

I do think there should've been at least one more (major) death, especially during that final battle. The writers were probably too worried about taking away some of Tony Stark's spotlight.

Fat Thor :joy:

I'll give them a bit of room on the Cap loophole. Going back to Peggy was always going to happen.

 @ the forced girl power scene. Other than that, the final battle was awesome.

Loved the Tony/Howard scene.

All in on Thor joining the GoG. Speaking of them, will be intersting watching Gamora and Quill in the future.

Guess the random kid at the end was the little guy from IM3 so I wonder if he takes over or if his daughter will.

Feel like I need to see it again but I'll have to wait until it's streaming and break it up.

Just call me a dumbass cuz somehow it slipped through the cracks on me. But who triggered the moment they all came back for the final battle? I guess in all the excitement I missed that.

Captain Marvel has the same problem Superman has onscreen. Being all powerful makes them boring characters.
The struggle and vulnerability is what makes a good movie. Neither two has those attributes.

Yeah agreed. She’s “overpowered” as the kids say today.

Took the family to see it Friday night. My son is a big Marvels fan and got me hooked a few years back. Probably not the popular opinion we were both really disappointed in the movie, especially considering the hype and how great Infinity War was.
- Way too slow the first two hours
- not a fan of what they did with Thor and The Hulks characters
- how is it that Thor defeated Thanos in Infinity War, when Thanos had all the stones. Yet, in Endgame, Thor had two weapons and Thanos had no stones but still got the better of Thor? Makes no since.

Maybe because Thor was 50lbs overweight and mentally f*cked? It was always going to be Iron Man or Captain America killing Thanos. I thought CA would have to sacrifice himself but it ended up being Tony.

Maybe. Guess that circles back to my disappointment in what they did with Thor and Hulk. It was funny at first glance but really jumped the shark are their characters.

Wish CA would have been the one the died. I never cared much for his character.

I'm assuming you are talking about when Doctor Strange opened up all the portals and brought everyone to the same battlefield together. I'm guessing the Hulk's snap brought everyone back to where they were when they first vanished. Doctor Strange then had to bring them all together since they came from a different place/s on Earth and some from another planet.

Expected that Tony and/or Cap would die in this one, so neither of those endings really surprised me. What did surprise me was Romanoff, did not see that coming at all. Not a huge fan of how she went either - think that character deserved a better send-off.

What do you think would happen to someone who goes into a major state of depression for 5 years after blaming himself for half the people in existence dying? They are going to have issues. That likely leads to turning to things to comfort you and in Thor's case, it was alcohol and food.

I think the Professor Hulk character was a combination of bringing something from the comics and allowing both Bruce and the Hulk to have their swan song in this movie. I'm sure they didn't want his final appearance to be him getting beat down by Thanos and refusing to come back out. They needed someone strong enough to wield the Infinity Gauntlet. Plus they needed Bruce's intellect to try and help solve the time travel problems (equals Professor Hulk).

My question is how do we know he wasn't always meant to come back to the past and marry Peggy Carter. They never show or mention her husband's name and she always seemed to have a picture of Steve Rogers on her desk (kinda strange to do that for decades and with a husband around to see it).

Plus with Captain America in the ice for most of the time he was with Peggy, it allowed Steve Rogers to live independently of Captain America. Somehow that could have caused the 2 potential timelines to merge with there being no issues of contaminating the timeline until 2011 (I believe) and by then he was already an old man and had given up being Captain America long ago.

Rarely do I get to literally laugh out loud and cheer out loud multiple times in a movie. The entire theater laughed when Thor got fat and screamed when that Hammer flew into Cap's hand. Thought it had the ending that Iron Man needed and Cap deserved.

One thing I had an issue with was how Hawkeye got the Soul stone.
After how losing his family affected him, are we supposed to believe Black Widow was whom he loved the most?

Easy explanation is Cap becomes old in alternate timeline ...travels back to the past before the timelines split....... and then goes back to the future following the main timeline branch all the way to the lake bench.

What they did to Thor and Hulk made perfect sense. Thor failed and depression got to him ... Then the beautiful thing is that his mother set him right in a touching moment.

The professor Hulk was always the evolution of the character.... brains and brawn.... there were 5 movies where the Hulk was Hulk Smash... its fine having 1 that has him in the year 2023 being the end evolution of the character..

Thor didnt defeat Thanos in infinity war. remember the words "you should of went for the head" ... and Thor got the shot in because Thanos wasnt expecting it as it came flying in like a jet from Thor way up high in the air.

In the original Avengers one of Cap's slights at Tony was that he isn't the kind of guy who makes the sacrifice play by laying on a wire so the rest of the troops can get by. Tony's play at the end was him doing just that.

I loved and kinda hated the movie all that same time. Didn’t hate anything they did or how it was filmed, just kind of hate how it feels like it’s over now.

Just saw it this morning and still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing.

Steve Rogers marrying Carter and aging to the present made sense, what didn't was how did Nebula bring Thanos from 2014 to the present?

Didn't she shrink Thanos's ship down and brought it with her like they did the GotG ship? They brought that one with them in their pocket I think when they first went back to get the stones. Probably did the same thing and shrunk it and put it in her pocket as well. It showed up and started getting huge and ripping through the building when she returned with it.

I thought it appeared in the sky and started firing.
