Beamer has to let the next OC build his own staff. If he chooses to retain some current staff, fine. IMO, no part of this offense has performed well enough that any coach should be considered a lock to return. Certainly, you need to let the new OC pick his OL coach. You need an OL coach that teaches blocking schemes compatible with the offense run by the OC.

In short, Beamer needs to be a good leader and realize his strengths and weaknesses, and accept that someone else is better suited to assemble an offensive staff.

The worst thing Beamer can do is hire an OC with expectations or restrictions that the new OC work with the current staff. The current staff is garbage. Flush it all and start from scratch.

Zone blocking is pretty standard...lots of NFL teams run at least some of it. That is Shawn Elliott's bread and butter.
