Just made aware of a newly scheduled game that looks to be a pretty fun game. Laugh if you will but GW takes JV pretty seriously. Hetlet demands every level, every game reps the program and for the 8+ years of games I know, GW has not lost. Two years in that run they gave up no points. Yes it is a much shorter game as two 20-minute halves with mostly running clocks and no FGs, but it simply demonstrates the program mentality.
This year, on Oct 15 at 9:30am at GW (not Duchon but the turf field we know as Memorial), we welcome the LWE JV. All indications are that LWE is so deep they could likely field two if not three competitive varsity teams. On the face of it, this is a death wish to GWs 8+ year winning streak.
The good news / bad news for GW is that we play PW the Friday night before. All due respect to PW but with a new coach over there not exactly putting up great numbers thus far, it would likely mean GW starters out by halftime. LWE plays Bradley in what looks a highly competitive GOW kind of game.
Yes, you actually may have just witnessed the very first instance of sandbagging on the JV level on this board.
Bottom line is that this may be the first ever non-conference JV game GW has ever played that had the potential to be a great football game.
Just wanted this out there early so everyone could adjust their schedules.
