ESCC Week 10 Predictions

Palatine big, by at least 3 TDs...Pirates too big and fast for ND; plus ND appears to be turnover prone and Palatine had 15 INTs and 4 fumble recoveries during regular season.
Also, I haven't seen Marist play(except in Hudl highlights) but I like New Trier's chances at springing an upset.

They beat a good Benet Team, a Naz team that can make a run, and as a rice guy I think they would give rice great game if played again. Marist is most improved team since week 1 in my opinion. They killed EVERYONE after rice game.

I know it's common to make team-to-team or conference-to-conference comparisons that don't prove out, but CCHS just put up 14pts on a good Benet team with five turnovers.
BA goes into the playoffs averaging 18.8 pts against playing in the ESCC, which is widely known as a respectable conference. StCN is averaging 8.7 pts against in a very average football conference IMO.
Not predicting a CCHS victory, however, I'd be shocked if we're held to 10pts total playing in week 10 at this point.

I''d say the ESCC is very average this year too, maybe below average. Could be a great game between two average teams!

5A - Naz, MCC
6A - Viator
7A - Benet
8A - Marist
I can also see 3 Semi Finalist out of that bunch.

Not disagreeing on Benet upset pick. Wondering why you think Benet will lose. Benet has been playing it dangerous all year with an o-line that is bad and gets pushed around. Will that finally cost them a game?
I like the way Hoffman played against a good Barrington Team, and there toughness of schedule I think is better. I think the MSL West this year is going to make noise, and Hoffman is a team that I think Benet might overlook based on reputation. However they are better than a lot of people think. Ask Barrington
I hear the ESCC was a "dumpster fire" this year. Let's see how they perform in the playoffs.
Palatine 38 ND 7....Palatine has one of the best QB's and offenses in the state. The Dons have been offensively challenged.
Marist 31 NT 14...Marist's defense is outstanding, and their young skills have come on. NT is very good, but this will be the best defense the Trevians have faced all year. Plus, Marist is not an easy place to play. And good luck with that commute.
SCN 34 CoM 10....SCN has a lot of talent and has put up points this year. The Corsairs did well to make the playoffs. Looks like a short playoff run.
Benet 31 Hoffman Estates 28....this is a tough draw for Benet. Not sure what the plan was for Week 9 for HE. This game could go either way. What a bizarre way to prep for the playoffs for HE, which makes this game even tougher to read.
Boylan 21 Viator 17....always tough to gauge a team like Boylan, who does not play non-cons. Viator is coming off two tough losses. This is another tough one to pick. Have to give the edge to Boylan at home.
Naz 42 Goode 7....nice 5A draw for the Roadrunners. The more games they play, the more experience their younger players will get. They will be a tough out in 5A. I have a hard time reconciling scoring only 10 points in Week 6, though.
MCC 35 Payton 7....another nice 5A draw. Are there any others? Looks like the Canes and Roadrunners are on a collision course. It also looks like the game could be in Woodstock. If so, Naz may need to fly Jwar in for old times sake and to evaluate the field.

That makes sense. Plus Benet's only non-conference game was a mess, St. Laurence ran up and down the field on them. Benet's defensive reputation is built on stopping ESCC teams which are in general weak on quarterback talent this year.
Actually, Benet played two non-con games. Might have to put a little work into figuring it out, but it's there as a 'W'.

Yes you did! LOL! But seriously if you all don't want us in the ESCC, where do you think would be a good fit? I thought the perfect place for us was in the CCL Green division like they had us!
No it wasn't prior to leaving the CCL! I also don't think I would use the word chicken! The, at the time, coaching staff totally embraced the chance to play in the CCL along with the rest of the SCC conference teams that went there!
CC 21 SCN 20 Carmel has played pretty good D all year and they hold onto the ball for long stretches.

Naz 50-0 running clock by halftime, I think they go all the way in a weak 5A this year. They have young athletes that have grown up to be ready for a playoff run.
