Other "non-conference game" was the game against Notre Dame - so it did not count against the standings, but also did not give them exposure to other conference. I think the AD got a little lazy!

I've only heard one ESCC team (Naz) express issues with MCC's field. Take it with a grain of salt. It was, afterall, Naz fans.

Field should be fine for quarters. They wouldn't have played on it in 4 weeks. Unless someone leaves the hose on ....
no one took the bait because we watched the tape and have decided to ask-- who knows what the playing surface at Hillcrest is like!!
The fact that so many of the ESCC hate MCCs grass field is all the more reason why they should keep it! It's called home field advantage they are already in your heads before you even show up on the field. I say they should water it down all Thursday into Friday before every home game!

You are absolutely correct. Last year when Naz played at MCC, Naz' loss was treated as a Shakespearean tragedy of epic proportions. I stated that MCC considers the Friday night games where most teams have a 90 minute plus bus ride, the bad lighting, the officials reputation, earned or not, and the field, as a feature and not a bug as far as MCC was concerned.
FF92 where in this thread have I pointed out any faults in MCC? Tell me and everybody else so you can make an example out of me!
Not just this thread but your over all demeanor when it comes to MCC.

2) you say "at the time coaching staff" implying that the new coach had something to do with MCC not going to CCL green even tho MCC was in the ESCC well before he was ever hired.
3)You sit here and complain about the field and say it should be field turf because everyone else in the ESCC wants us to have it. MCC is a blue colored team and it looks like they prefer the grass!
4) you come to all the football games dressed in your red wearing your MC hat in defiance of the change you sit on the fense talking to coaches and cheering on the players while you not even secretly (because of your edgy tim post) are hoping they loose. So you can post the old coaching staff had a more exciting team out there and we have moved back to a boaring offense. Last years success was from the old staff, etc...
5) you appease the anti MCC people who post negative things about Marian by saying if you don't want us in the ESCC then where should we go?... Who cares what they think! MCC is in the ESCC and we aren't going anywhere. So the Naz fans and everyone else in the ESCC can get on their busses and drive all the way up to the cornfields of northern Illinois and get ready to play an all out tough blue collar gritting football game on grass, hopefully with a little rain so they can go home crying about the unfair advantage MCC had at home, that's the way it's supposed to be!

Good you know me then! You also know how long I been involved with this school and the hours of volunteer time I put into the school! I will try to address all 5 of your points!
1) I have picked them to win and to lose. Just because I pick them to lose doesn't mean I want them to! I don't recall that I posted that NAZ will take us in the quarter finals. In fact I don't think I posted any place a prediction on a MC, NAZ quarterfinal game. Point it out for me please!
2) You are right that the new coach had nothing to do with MCC going to the ESCC! How did you get from what I said that it was the new coach that got MCC into the ESCC? I was implying that the old coaching staff was fine with being in the CCL Green which was a year and a half before the new coach got there. They switched to the ESCC in the spring of 2014 and played in that conference for the first time in the fall of 2014! The old coach didn't announce his retirement until the last couple of games of the season. The new coach was hired in the beginning of 2015!
3) Yes I would like to have field turf because the way the ground is. Peet doesn't have any stability and it tares up easy when wet. Is the grass an advantage to the MCC team presently? Yes I believe it is too anything for a win! I believe to, if we had turf, it would be another way we could attract student atheletes to the school, with us and Huntley being the only ones in the county that have it!
4)Let me ask you do you think the old coaching staff was successful? Were you involved with the school over a year before the change in coaching staffs? The old coaching staff was family, family that was torn apart by an administration that's not there anymore! Should I keep wearing my MC hat or do you want me to toss it along with my allegiance to a school that I am an alumni of along with being a father of three alumni and the father of a student there now? I want those kids to win more than anything!
5)Did you take that personally about what they were saying about MCC? I truly believe they were kidding around so I tried to play along with them which obviously didn't work in your eyes and it gave you another opportunity to pounce on Mister T.

There has not been a state championship since the 80s. You can't change the past so get over the changes that have been made! You can't have it both ways, you come to the games acting like you want them to win. But then go home and bad mouth the system, or the coach or anything you can because you are upset that the guy you wanted didn't get the job.That's life things don't always go the way you want or the way you think it should. How you deal with it shows your character.

Looks like most people thought Boylan was that good or Viator is that bad. Some predicted the Lions getting blown out. The ESCC is strong. I don't know much about Boylan's conference but very happy with today's outcome...wish I could have watched it live.
As a Viator fan I know better. I just like it when they can prove the "experts" wrong.
Yes, congrats to the Lions. Also, very nice showing by the Corsairs. I know they are disappointed, but losing to SCN in OT is nothing to hang their heads over.
Even with Zach Oles out with a broken collarbone on the second series of the game this was never a contest. Will need to see the final stats, but I doubt ND had 75 yards of total offense.
Unsurprisingly, ND's offense was non-existent. However, I am proud of the Dons making yet another trip to the postseason. 10 of the last 11 seasons--something a lot of programs cannot claim (including our plant-like neighbors to the south). ******** 8A is just a lot to ask of the program. Best of luck to the remaining ESCC teams. I think all teams left can make legit runs.
Oh, and keep an eye out for Dons basketball this year. Elite 8 last year--and, from what I am hearing, they can win it all this year.

Let's be honest there are no "experts" on this board! Me included, I really dropped the ball with BR and made myself look stupid.
CCHS battled like warriors today.
Outsized severely they went to grind mode and delivered a great performance. A SCN fumble recovery for a TD return got SCN back in this one and a late Carmel fumble inside the SCN 20yd line with just under a minute or so to play put the Corsairs in a tough situation after regaining control. Missing their stud FB since week five they got a great performance from the Soph replacement but just couldn't come out on top.
The seniors should be proud of getting the Corsairs to the playoffs. This was the first time ever the Corsairs qualified as a 5-4 team and almost pushed through today.
