We beg for 1-32 yet we still complain. Don't like it? Come up with a better system. Otherwise stop whining.
Marist 31 Barrington 28.....been impressed with the play of Marist's defense since the Naz game. The Redhawks can always score points, although I was surprised at the low output against ND. Picking the upset here with the game on the Southside. You have to like Dunne's history in the playoffs.
JCA 28 MCC 14.....expect this game to be closer than the first meeting. Will be interested to see what type of offensive game plan Maloney comes up with for MCC. They did not have much offensive success in the first meeting. The game was 7-3 at the half, though. Harry Davis did not play in the first meeting. He gives the Hilltoppers another playmaker on offense.
Naz 49 Solario 0.....nice draw.
CG 24 Benet 14....Benet has a chance here. Mentioned in another thread that they match up well defensively with CG. Can they limit Pennington? They would seem to have the personnel (DT's and MLB) to do so. If this game was in Lisle, I'd give them a better chance. Very interesting matchup, though. Benet is a big, physical team. Can they generate enough offensively? This could be a statement win for the Benet program.

I like 1-32 seeding. But I think there should be a rule that prohibits teams in the same conference (or that have played one another) from facing eachother until the 2nd round. Kind of like the NCAA tournament does. Would not be that difficult to administer.

*guys please 1-32 is as good as it can get. cant please everyone but with the 1-32 u eliminate the chicanery with the quads , 1-16 N/S crap etc it is what it is MC used to have SR all the time right away like 04 05 13 with that crap.

I agree. Public schools play against each ohteher in the first round all the time and nobody complains. If the 1-32 system gives us one Catholic school against another we have to live with it but it's MUCH better than the quads and 1-16.

come on ghost. where is there any complaining about generic private vs generic private? it's a frustration, that's all that two escc schools will meet in the first 3 rounds.
you are right - this system is way way better than the old way...but man, really hope they try it next season for all classes.

I agree on the seeding. I would rather have 1-32
When I said there was complaining I meant that it is going to be impossible not to have a few Catholic schools play against one another in the playoffs. I really thoght in 8A that Marist would play BR in the 1st round. this makes sense
BUT if this makes sense for travel time then you still have 2 Catholic schools playing against each other.

Marist will handle Barrington and I believe without much trouble. While the first round game was tough because it was at ND, Marist has a pretty good shot at going to the semis as that lower bracket except for NC are all winnable especially if the next few opponents have to travel to Marist.
The Roadrunner orders some odd Microbrew, the Trojan something from the home still, and the Hilltopper a MGD. Then the Bronco buys the bar and creates unisex bathrooms.
