HUGE game this week...but first...the others...

MCC-31 Viator-21....Hurricanes bounce back after two blowout losses.

Marist-49 Marian-7

CoM-28 Benet-14...Benet looked really bad last week. Carmel is playing some pretty solid football and has their sights set on the playoffs after an 0-3 start. How is Benet's QB?

ND-35 Pats-24...ND is the much better team. But this is one of the best rivalries in the state which means crazy things will happen. Shamrocks keep it close until the Dons score a couple TDs in the 4th to seal a victory.

JCA-35 Naz-28 (GOTW...obviously)....Really cannot wait for this one....and my prediction isn't really based on any strong evidence. Just a guess from having seen both teams play a few times.

MCC 28 Viator 14....the Hurricanes return home after two tough road losses. Long year for the Lions.

Marist 48 Marian of the Heights 7.....long year for the Spartans.

CoM 21 Benet 14....the status of the Benet QB is huge. Benet experienced the highs (beating Marist) and lows (blown out by Naz) of the ESCC in the last two weeks. It's a deep, competitive league. CoM will miss their D1 TE/DE, but they are on an upswing and will win in Mundelein on their continued march to the playoffs.

ND 45 Pat's 24....Pat's has been in most of their games and can score points....just not at the clip of the Dons. It's a rivalry game and on the green cement, but ND has too much offense.

JCA 28 Naz 24....Has there been any discussion on this game yet? Was very impressed with the Naz defense last week. They completely shut down Benet. Can JCA handle Naz' team speed on both sides of the ball? Can Naz hold their own at the LOS? Don't know the answer to either of those questions. We shall see.

MCC - big
Marist - bigger
ND - Pats keeps it close for a while, but not enough D
Benet (Are we sure Carmel is that good? 3 big losses to good teams and 3 wins against teams with four combined wins)
JCA - 35 - 28

Just trying to see why you say Marian would not be threatened by a relocated coed catholic school in the old lwn. Is it because it is not likely to happen at all or because the 2 schools would have differing student bases and thus the new school would not cannibalize Marians enrollment. My fear is that it would draw a lot of the old school South Suburban holdouts from Rich and Bloom twps (also compete with MtC for the Lansing/Munster crowd since it would be only 7 miles straight west of Marian. In turn Marian becomes more of a Seton or DeSales.

Viator upsets MCC 27-24
ND 42 Pats 35
JCA 35 NAZ 24
Benet 24 Carmel 14...Carmel is not that good. There D is soft and if they get behind in a game, their QB stinks. Stop Jamison and you win the game

Marian should look at getting the LWN building. It would be tough but it would be better than being the next DeSales or Seton or even worse, Leo. Opportunities like this only come around once so whomever takes advantage will reap the benefits while others will wish they would have.

Nope. From what I have heard, the earliest he will return would be week one of the playoffs.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question.
I said not likely for two reasons;
One due to the cost, the buildings were build for a cost of about $100 million and I don't think the district is going to just give them away. It's going to cost someone a lot of money if they really want to just buy one.
Second, there is still quite a bit going on behind the scenes which makes the issue quite confused. The local state Senator as well as the local state Representative have both proposed bills which will force districts to have an organized plan for a school closing and not just jam it through over a 90 day period of time with no research or public input. Also, the board, in response to the large public petition as well as the questioning of some board members voted to agree to undergo a forensic audit of their past financial dealings because of tremendous inconsistencies such as undocumented money transfers, lack of audit meeting over-site and really too many items to list.
It's hard to tell what is going to happen over the next few months or year.
