My view of NND after Friday's game is that they have a nice team but nothing overly impressive. Not by 8A standards at least.

I was expecting a woodshed type beat down like we experienced against JCA in week 3 and that didn't happen.

Not having our big TE was a factor IMO as our Corsairs didn't have the balance required on offense to soften defenses a bit and produce some big pass plays.

Good luck to all ESCC teams entering week one of the playoffs!

As we all know I'm the biggest ND fan but never been their biggest supporter. ND controlled the 2nd half. The only reason why the game was close was the pick 6. ND wins by at least 2 full TD's otherwise, maybe 3.

I think they can, it will be an exciting game, no doubt. They both put up a lot of points on each other.

12-7 at half was not impressive. JCA was up 21-0 and doing whatever they wanted to do.

You do realize you only scored the same amount of points in the second half as the first (plus an extra point conversion)?

Good luck against Marist. I think you're going to need it.

Gooms does understand that. The only reason why Carmel scored 7 was the pick 6. Not like Carmel's offense did that much. Don't forget as well ND's record vs. Carmel in the past 22 years was 0-22. IF Tsalgalis doesn't throw the Pick Carmel wouldn't have scored at all. But in Typical ND vs. Carmel fashion he did but he more than made up for it with that TD pass to Simon.

If you went to the game, ND lost by 7 , true, but in the last 40 seconds the refs made a bone head call, on a punt recovery. That could have possibly changed the game, Marist is good, but not unstoppable or unbeatable. In the Carmel game, ND shut down the wing T, so coaching has changed for the better.

Carmel doesn't run the Wing-T. They run triple-option. Their base formation may confuse you since they run out of a Double-Wing set or as Flexbone people prefer - Double Slot - as Paul Johnson refers to it.

The Corsairs actually ran a full house/wishbone hybrid Wing-T back in 1989 when they beat NND 41-14 in week nine but then gave it all back in the quarterfinals losing 10-7 in Mundelein.

The Dons went to to beat Wheaton C in the semi's and get pounded by Mt Carmel in the finals.
