Time to wrap this up. Overall, it seems like the ESCC is down this year, but wouldn't be surprised to see a few times make runs in the playoffs (Marist, a healthy MCC in 5A, Naz). But we shall see what the matchups hold.

ND-35 Viator-21...Dons get a bounce back win at home and finish up 7-2.

Marist-49 JCA-14...Marist hasn't had a competitive game since week 1. But that offense is clicking and the defensive line is stout. A legit 8A contender.

MCC-42 Pats-7...Hurricanes get in.

Naz-56 Marian-7...The young Roadrunners could make some noise in 6A.

Benet-28 Carmel-14...Congrats to the Corsairs on their first win last week. Benet could win a game or two in the playoffs.

On a side note--I understand that with 10 teams, it's impossible for every team to play each other each year (unless the ESCC goes back to the old model with no non-conference games). But it's disappointing that the Marist and ND programs didn't have a chance to match up this year. Both are undefeated on the frosh and the soph level and are now stuck sharing the conference championship on those levels. And the varsity game would have been a nice test for Marist's offense against a tough Dons defense.

Does any one know the conference schedule for next year? I know Pats picks up Nad and Benet, but don't know who they drop. Im pretty sure ND picks up Benet and Marist but don't know who they drop.

Im also hearing that the conference is dropping sophomore football and picking up JV teams. Understandable because of the numbers. Has any else heard this?

Marist would have destroyed ND Varsity. No one is close to Marist in the ESCC. Marist showed that when they beat Naz 42-0.

ND 31 Viator 20: Very nice year for ND. 8A is brutal but could win a first round game. Viator's gets a few more numbers, they will be more of a threat in the conference

Marist 49 JCA 0: Marist gets this game to runinng clock fast. JCA has bigger issues than football

MCC 35 SP 14: Wouldn't shock me to see MCC in the elite 8 in 5A. SP new coach really seems to be sharp and has young pieces, just needs the horses

Naz 56 MC 14: Similar to the Marist game, Naz makes the second half a quick thing. MC needs to address lots of issues with keeping players in the building

Benet 27 Carmel 13: Benet really isn't challenged in this game. Will there be major changes in Mundelein?

Overall, a down year for the ESCC, but very well could have 2 or 3 teams playing very deep into the playoffs.

Viator 20 ND 17 Need a statement win before playoffs. Will make a run in 5A pending on match ups
Marist 38 JCA 10 Marist is the real deal
MCC 27 Pats 14 Gave hope to Viator in win over ND last week. Get into playoffs at 5-4. Could win a couple playoff games if they get the right draw
Naz 49 MC 0 Nothing to say on this game
Benet 28 Carmel 14 Carmel keeps this close as Frosh QB is getting better each week. NO changes in Mundelein. This group will be good moving forward.

ND 28 Viator 7- seen both teams play and no way St V can keep up with the angry Dons coming off their trip to the whole
Marist- Everyone stay healthy! I will however predict the 2nd half score Marist JV 21 JCA JV 20
Pats 18 MCC 17- why the hell not!
Naz 42 MC 6- Rack and crew will attempt to get clock running to be ready for the Gaunlet that is 6A North...need to secure that 2 seed
Benet 23 CC 6 - this won't be close

Prowler, I have to ask, why do you refer to Mcc as the whole? Is it really that bad playing there?

He’s a Naz Guy, Naz would prefer to never go there again. I think they’d play at Hope 100 times before MCC once lol. I’m friends with a lot of them and you should hear them talk about it. Especially the guys that were around in 2007 or whenever that was.

Yeah I hear you and its understandable! Its probably the same way we feel about Montini, losing to them in the playoffs usually in the quarter finals in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014! We hate them but we respect the heck out of them! I was there in 2007! La Steven was a great back! Mcc played a poor game that day! Coming off a major upset the week before over Montini! Them beating us during the regular season 30 to 0 and Mcc going down to Lombard beating them 29 to 16 with 3 of our starters with casts on their arms! Awesome game!

In a nutshell respect the program and the kids at MCC. However, the field is a cow pasture, the results have been bad, and the Home cookin' is reported by everyone to be the worst they've ever seen(In all honesty I haven't seen that side in my limited exposure). All that said Naz ended up with a Pretty good coach from MCC, so it is what it is as they say.

It's one of the worst playing surfaces around thus a "whole"...now let me also say it maybe one of the best home field advantages in the state when combined with the drive conference opponents have to make.

And yes I agree with the others...don't want to go back the 1st qtr halftime, storm game was the worst.

The ESCC makes my heart sad. Two years without the Hill in the playoffs. I'm going to have to root for Naz and Marist.

Yeah we are the only ones who don't have turf, would have but that went out the window and I don't want to get into that again. It probably won't happen for a long time now. It has probably now become an advantage for us. Being the only ones with grass. When it comes to travel think about what are kids go through.

That doesn't fit their narrative @MR. "T"

Weren't they going to change the name of the place to Andriano Field? Broncos had some of their finest moments in Woodstock.
I just never understood that every year they would run the wildcat in the playoffs and MCC was never ready for it.

I think it was less a Wildcat thing and more about speed. Either way, adjustments weren't there. Those were some great games, love the field and atmosphere in Woodstock.

Viator- thought I would switch it up and I could see it happen potentially
Marist
MCC- Canes make the playoffs again after a big win last week, would like to see the offense take off to get a roll going into the playoffs, especially if Soucie's projection is right about the Canes drawing Philips in the first round
Naz
Benet

Happy to see he found a good spot, loved him as a coach, he's a smart and hard working football guy. Mr. T and I loved having him on the MCC staff after a great playing career as a starting QB for the Canes in the early to mid 2000s.

Viator - ND is way too one dimensional...stop Ty Gavin game over.
Marist - very good team who should make some serious noise in the 8A play-offs (who is absolutely loaded this year).
MCC - technically the 3rd week of the play-offs for the Canes officially gets them in. The offense will get rolling behind that determined defense. Canes will not be playing Phillips Round 1 bases off the points they will have once they win Friday night. Phillips can come up to Woodstock in the 2nd round...perfect.
Naz - young, scary team who is only getting better each and every week. Watch out 6A.
Benet - defense is very physical which will only help them come play-off time.

I'll cosign for you if you can provide any reasoning behind why you think stopping Ty is a possible with that defense? Just ☝️, only ☝️ example of a running game being shut down

diesel, I like what your saying getting Phillips second round at home! However I can't see that happening if Viator also wins. The most points MCC will have is 41 and that is for sure! If Viator loses and is 5&4 and one of their non conference opponents loses they will have 40 points and will be the 16th seed and face Pillips the first round. Viator could also slide up to 6a if the right upsets happen. The only guarantee is, is that phillips will be the #1 seed. However they haven't played their last regular season game either!

Watch MCC/ND game film. They stopped him so gameplan around that with their personnel.
I know they will do it and will win! However that will give MCC a first round date with Phillips in Chicago!.....Thinking about it, that just might be the best time to play them!

You all do know that MCC & Viator could move out of the 15th & 16th seeds right? These are projected as if the play-offs started today. Will be interesting to see where everyone ends/matches up against.

Ok I'll go first! In 5A you have (16) Woodstock MCC at (1) Phillips, and (15) St Viator at (2) Sterling. If both are 5-4, meaning Viator loses to ND and MCC beats St Pats, wouldn't it be the other way around? MCC has 38 playoff points and Viator 35 now. I don't see how they get more points than MCC in one week.

They beat them 6-3 on points this week to make up the difference. One thing to keep in mind, Marian CC will get no more points from the two Wisconsin teams as they've already played nine games and Week 10 games don't count for playoff point scoring.

Yes, people understand that they can move out of those spots, but people who get paid to analyze and project seedings are saying that this MOST LIKELY will be a good idea of where they may land. After looking at the outlook it does seem pretty imminent. Everyone understands things can change, but that's the best bet to assume right now.

I understand they get paid for analyzing brackets, points, etc. These experts can be wrong right...MCC was not even supposed to be in this spot according to such experts. We shall see...like I said let's see where the chips may fall after Friday night. Regardless Phillips stands in the way for every team in 5A...just a matter of when one plays them.

Diesel I 100% agree that expert projections can be wrong, I'm just saying don't jump on people for following well studied projections and then say that you know that they won't play Phillips in the first round, without any solid evidence
