Okay, can I have ESL coaches call YOU to help us prepare for a proverbial “Rochester?” Besides, if our “bane” as you suggest usually still ends up in a “W” for us, can you really characterize it as a bane? My recollection accounts for a few shut-outs or very low scores deep in the play-offs. Yes, we’ve had a few games where our defense has not played to its fullest capabilities, but it happens when you seek out challenges; it’s all part of the process.
Friends, Check out this 19-20 (last full Corona-Free Illinois) Season:
Chatham 56 Rochester 26
Chatham 28 ESL 50
You lost me at “will always be the bane”. Just a little too careless……….
Bane Bane Bane!!! Ratsy
I don’t know about all that Rochester talk but after seeing ESL last night and IMG and Bosco play through the first two weeks it is obvious that they are nowhere near that level of play. Nobody in the state is.
If you watched that game last night and thought ESL could travel to CA to beat Bosco after a Miami Central team that is absolutely loaded on defense went out there and were quickly down 21-0 and routed the rest of the way you are not living in reality you are a homer.
Don’t even get me started on IMG.
Those two games are going to test those kids character in a big way. Are they going to keep that same energy that had last night when they are on the other end of a beat down and kids are flipping into the endzone, laughing and clowning them? Because it is going to happen and there isn’t anything they can do about it. It will be interesting.
Watch Bosco vs. Miami Central and IMG vs American Heritage on YouTube. You will see what I’m talking about.
Someone created a thread asking why ESL wasn’t ranked in the top 5 nationally with a roster bolstered by all of their D1 transfers. We all saw why last night.
