If it’s not running clock by mid third that’s a win for Fenwick
I think Fenwick matches up better with ESL than Naz. Might be a good game.
Idk. Fenwick looked pretty good from what I saw. Similar score when they played St. L too.
Depends on which East Side team shows up. No turnovers and o-lines East Side should put it away in third. If not will go the distance..
I hope it’s a clock by mid second. They won’t stop ESL and ESL will bottle them up. Naz just forgot they were Naz and let them take screens for 1000 yards a pop it was bad. Fenwick is just a mediocre team as is Naz ESL I hope puts up 100

Fenwick is a lot better than people think. The Thies brothers are NASTY. If they are banged up, that’s trouble for the Friars. A healthy Fenwick might be able to hang with the Flyers though.
If, big if, Fenwick can force some turnovers it’ll be close otherwise ESL will win comfortably.

MC - slight favorite
Brother Rice - slight underdog

Well I think East Saint Louis is the tougher private school in this one but I think it will be a good game.

Funny, I had a similar thought last week. Given that we have 4 open games, would it be possible that at least 2 of those could be filled with CCL teams? I realize that the CCL is usually open only in the first week, but could things be manipulated to fit ESL?

I forgot that our conference is shifting to where we will only have 2 open games after this year I think.
Would love to see MC and BR play ESL in a home and home next year. From what I am hearing one might happen
ESL will need to execute; they will be prepared for sure by our dedicated coaches. But, this is a championship game, and everyone brings their best. Looking forward to all the games next weekend.

That’s alotta talent. Im guessing the SWC 1st team all conference is full of ESL players.
That sometimes works against them for post season awards. They all don't get touches. Laron Baker is a guy who has offers from LSU, Michigan, Ole miss, etc. He's probably the 3rd wr option but its not very often shanklin has to go to the 3rd read on any play.
Its amazing year after year all these D1 players in a city of 17,000.
It truly is just put in the offseason work and you will be surprised at the outcome. Oh and keep the grades up. You do not come into a program like ESL nor MC for that matter and not put work in.
The Southwestern Conference changes start next season 2026-2027..It will become a 10 team conference, with 2 divisions for football. I think ESL in Football will still be a fish out of water. Not much will change, will be able to schedule 3 non conference games, with 2 games against the other division. The teams added to the SWC will not provide any competition in football. I still see 3 open dates, ESL plays: B'ville East, B'ville West, E'ville, O'Fallon for 4 games, then 2 cross over, for 6 total, leaving 3 for open dates.
If there are 4 open dates then the SWC must only plan on doing 1 crossover game? I dont think I have seen anything official on the scheduling one way or another. But I def dont want to see two crossovers (meaning 2 of GC, Collinsville, Triad, Mascoutah, Alton) at the expense of one of the non con caliber opponents they have had recently.
ESL only plays one crossover game. I believe E'ville is in the same boat as well.
