This seems a little conflicted to me given they can move the line with off-hand comments on their shows.

It's just branding with them licensing the ESPN name to an outside party. They aren't making any money specifically on bets themselves (at least officially, who knows about under the table stuff)

Unlikely that they are moving lines with off hand comments. And they would have very little incentive to stretch the truth to try to move lines.
