Anyone feel like they are feeding the hate of Grayson? They have tweeted the same video and text multiple times, have a little segment on the website. Look, I agree it's dirty, but to make it seem he is the only player in major college bball that does this? That's laughable and just unnecessary. Oh. I forgot. He's white, best player on Duke, and ESPN loves attention...

Are they giving fair treatment to other players that have committed dumb acts (whether called or not) in the game? Definitely not.

But playing for Duke means certain things and one of those things is being held under the microscope. All the more reason Grayson should be using his head.

What really sucks about ESPN is how much they play on race at EVERY damn possible situation. Two weeks ago some gal wrote about GA and being white etc etc, now that POS Myron Medcalf has sounded off the race card as well. It was nice to see others, like Douglass Gotlieb IMMEDIATLY shut Myron down on Twitter. This race batting, race card **** ESPN. Has been pulling is utter trash. To hell with those a$$holes and their UNC leader.

HuffyJb, totally agree with you on the suspension talk. However GA actions have now put a target on his back.. all the refs from this day forward will "officiate" him differently.

I just visited cbssports.com, si.com and espn.com. Only espn had the Allen trip mentioned as not only a top basketball story, but a top sports story. I get my sports news from sites other than ESPN and encourage others to do the same. There is zero journalism at ESPN.

Being the hero in a national championship game put the initial target on his back. The next day after the game an article rolled out about how he was the next hated Duke star. I'm over it.

Don't care if he's white or black tripping is not codone. But on the flip side there's nothing said about the the fouls against Grayson. He's been punched, tripped, and kicked.

Paige is a likeable schoolboy who has hit a few big shots. Grayson has been described by his own teammates as an a-hole. He was the savior of our title and is carrying our team this season. Of course he is the story. ESPN is a business.

Interesting to see what happens when these teams play each other again! Like when a pitcher intentionally hits a batter. Players miss games for fighting! FSU bench will be called on.

Unless they play in the ACC tournament, these teams will never play each other again. We lose Marshall, Amile, Ingram, 50/50 Grayson.
I believe Bacon and Beasley are gonna go pro for FSU.

Grayson should probably start the next game on the bench. However, I love the kid's fire, grit, and intensity. Duke is fortunate to have him and Plumlee who will if nothing else leave it all on the floor, good game or not. That's 2 more players on the Duke roster with those qualities than on all of UNC's

Did they do all of this last year when Winslow did a couple unsportsmanlike things?

And in my personal opinion, what Grayson has did is about equal to a player pushing another player in the back during a rebound.. It is a foul, and it's in bad taste, but not a reason for suspension or any real punishment from outside of a coach.

People also need to understand the punishment a player like Grayson goes through during a game - He is constantly getting picked, pulled, hit, etc... So I'm sure he is extremely irritated toward the end of games.. This doesn't give him an excuse to trip another player, but it is important to realize that he is not a goon that is sent out there just to do this, and it is most likely the result of his frustration, and not just him being an ***.

This story will get buried when someone at the NFL combine runs 4.5 40 yd dash instead of sub 4.2. ESPN has become TMZ.

I agree to a point but do you know what Allen is dealing with during the course of a game? I don't like what he has done but like I have said elsewhere, stuff happens in the course of a game. If opponents are going to take shots at him both physically and verbally all game, that will wear on the best of people.

ESPN, spare me the babbling BS about Grayson being a dirty player! If he would have turned around and decked that Freshman for pushing him, I might have been a little upset, but he handled it the way he thought he could and not draw attention to it. Problem is, he is now being watched by every moron (ESPN) looking for a story.
Let's try to remember that this is a great young man that is constantly being singled out for something bad, and no, he did not bring on himself!! That's what some people wanted him to be, including the Media. Remember he is just a Sophomore, still learning how to deal with success, and being mauled and pawed every time he touches the ball. I wouldn't trade Grayson Allen for any player in the country, and yes, he is my favorite Duke player right now.
Grayson will learn how to handle these situations, through experience and listening to Coach K. I prefer to let "K" and Staff handle this situation, and you know he will.
Lastly, for all the Duke haters out there, get over it, this Kid will not be intimidated, because he is good and he plays for Duke!
Go Duke!!

All those things have actually been done to Allen....this year. However Allen is a white kid playing for Duke who happens to be an outstanding player. ESPN needs hits to compete and they know full well that going after the white Duke kid will get them those hits. Sad state of affairs but when Allen was elbowed in the face by a UL player who tried swinging at him as well when Allen was going for a loose ball, not a single peep out of ESP about that. Doesn't fit the narrative.

I am no condoning Allens' behavior here either. He needs to keep it together better, but he is also dealing with stuff that it is easy for arm chair players to come down on him for.

That’s true , the verbal and physical actions can wear on you, but it’s part of the game (to a certain extent). My concern is if Grayson begins to show that it gets to him, then that gives teams an out. Like why not put in a bench player just to get under his skin in hopes that he loses his cool? I guess I just want to see him take his frustration out on the rim. AND 1!!!! Lol.

Yea I know! Nobody seems to keep playing Diamond Stone smashing a player's head to the ground! Ok I get it! It was a dirty play so suspend him for a game if that's what it takes for him to learn his lesson, but don't keep throwing him on social media making him look like a villain because he is far from that! He's only 19 or 20 and he's a great kid off the court! It's absolutely appalling how ESPN keeps showing this over and over and slandering the poor kid! Quite frankly, it's disgusting me!!

And rival fans making him out to be the second coming of Hitler or the devil are salivating at the thought of having more material to use against him

True, but I am not sure he is concerned about perception.I don't come down too hard on any of these kids for making mistakes or getting frustrated. I think the sum of the parts needs more consideration in this only show what you think will get a reaction type world we live in.

Might be time for K to use the videos of Grayson doing questionable things like he did Hurley was bitching about referees calls. GA is smart enough to recognize that these actions will make him even more of a marked man.

No excuses for Grayson. Like I said in a post on a different thread if he was an UNC player we would be all over him. Really think he should be suspended at least one game and it should come from Coach K. Grayson needs to get the message. Watching from the bench should do it. And I agree with Tiass about the target on his back. The refs are going to start looking his way. OFC

It's the same on Twitter. The "Worldwide Leader" is far and away the loudest voice. The UL kid who nailed Grayson with an elbow and then ADMITTED to doing it on purpose? Nothing. The worst athletic/academic fraud in NCAA history? Virtually nothing. Two players taking cheap shots at each other in the waning moments of a completely forgettable ACC game? Headline coverage but demonizing only one of the players involved. Hmmm....
