Replacing Hanson would be worse than the commercials. He's fantastic as his job and is a big reason why Redzone is so good. I have tried watching similar formats in other sports such as the one for CFB, MLS, etc. and they all suck. Hanson is phenomenal.

I am sure Beth Mowins is available.
I could see Beth Mowins, Keith Olbermann, Booger McFarland, Desmond Howard, Joe Tessitore, etc. as possibilities. There are a ton of ways ESPN can (and likely will) screw up NFL RedZone.

They just need to continue to let Scott Hanson do his thing as a solo host, and maybe they can get by with having commercials from time to time on a split screen. But if they try to put another ESPN "personality" on that broadcast, it will be over for NFL RedZone.

No...you don't get to create your own definition or an established term
Sure you do It came from coaches, some used the 30 other used the 20 It’s not in the rule book. It’s not like the crease in lacrosse that’s in the rule book and defined. The reason some used the 30 is, that’s where the scoring zone should start. 30+10 yd end zone + 7 yd for the hold is 47. Pro kickers should be automatic on 47 yd fgs
Only fantasy football guys worry about this term

Name the coach
RedZone is an accepted term for football--it also has nothing to do with fantasy football--that comment doesn't even make sense

Only nerds that play fantasy football care if it’s the 20 or the 30

You've reached Lando/Bushwood levels of obstinance here. You're objectively incorrect. Everyone else knows this. And rather than just admit your mistake, now you're insulting people who don't need to be insulted. Psst ... just about everyone, from the CURRENT PLAYER (many NFL players participate), to super nerds, to the coolest casuals, play fantasy football. And "red zone" doesn't matter to a fantasy football player, actually.

For kicks I googled “what is the red zone in football.” Every reference I saw said it was inside the 20. And this post credits Joe Gibbs with coining the term.

It's "made up," but it's very entrenched. I've heard it thousands of times, and each time it's referencing the 20. Coaches, players, broadcasters, betting sites ... everyone and anyone says you're in the "red zone" when you've marched to the 20-yard-line, or closer. If there's someone out there who decided to claim it's the 30-yard line and in, then they're doing their own weird thing.
The million dollar question is, “where does DelGrosso define it?”

Yet all ESPN needs to do is leave it alone. The goodwill they would build by just keeping NFL RedZone how it is today would be incalculable. But I think we all expect them to make changes that will devalue the program and make things worse.

That is what a DVR is for... oh the problems to have!
Yes, but it’s Sunday. I prefer to play “The mathematics professor and his hot student” during the working week. More true to life, you learn to play all the angles.

So, roll play it is Monday afternoon too.
I think you are older than me... and I don't pass up any opportunities. So, I will break my own "rules".

My $.02....had Red Zone most of the afternoon and really didn't seem to be much of a difference. If there were commericals they must've whipped past me.
Same...I think I noticed a split screen twice with a commercial. If that's all they do it's fine.

It's just how it starts. 1 min of ads this week, 2 min a few weeks from now, 10 mins next season, etc. Enshitification has a pattern, the minute it starts it snowballs.

Probably true...yesterday was fine but we'll see what it becomes
