Coming to find these msg board are just a bunch of people taking dart throw guesses and trying to convice everyone it is truth. Outside of yesterday when UCF confirmed Neb wants to contact Frost nothing of substance has been posted as proof Scott Frost is coming.
While I am still pretty confident he is coming it is mainly based gut. I have been on the Fl msg boards as well and they are the same way over there. Everyone knows everything about everything. Everything is a "done deal" lol Yesterday they were convinced Kelley was sign sealed and deliverd , today it appears Mike Norvell is the guy. Yesterday we were getting, Frost deal was already done 7 year 30 mill. Today he odds on fav and top 2 canidate to go to FL. With all "experts" saying Nebraska has little chance at him. As I posted yesterday my brother even claimed to know a booster who said deal was already done with Frost. I trust him 100%. Just not sure I trust the booster. In the end everyone is the same. We all hear information and want it to be true. We carry that information and pass it on as fact to the next person and the next person does the same until we all believe it as fact. That being said,..... Does anyone have any new information :) lol

Until somebody official says a contract is signed and sealed none of it really means anything. Way too many "sources" these days.

You're right, although there are plenty who claim not to know, just as yourself. There was a point in time the last two days when I was pretty convinced of the accuracy of 711employee's claim that Florida had moved on from Frost and were now looking at Kelly. In general I am not convinced when people make claims like that, but shortly after that thread was created reports began to surface that Kelly was a finalist, and then that report surfaced that he had accepted a deal with Florida worth 4.5 million per year. Well, that report turned out to be bogus and not from a reputable source, so I think we're back to square one.

Some on here are adamant that Frost is coming (e.g., Geck), but I have no reason to think his or any of their opinions are worth a damn. Others (e.g., HuskerDana) express confidence about Frost coming here, but who knows? I'm with you, all we know for sure is that we've expressed interest in hiring him.

It took you this long?
Lol No I knew it. Just figured of all the people on here, odds are someone really does know something. Someone has to be a close friend of Frost or Moos or Agent. There are too many people involved in these types of things for someone to not slip up and spread the word. The problem is trying to figure out who actually knows something and who is just spread BS. Thats what keeps us all coming back and believing this.

The tell tale signs of a made up story on the internet is the use of a qualifier.

"I heard from a booster or family member that works in a connect position"
"Contract is for $xxx and x years"
"His family member has xx personal issue effecting the decision"

The details are used to try and give some validity to a complete line of BS. Or people that actually hear from anyone has been fed false information to serve another purpose (agent trying to boost contract value). There is a reason there are confidential searches and no one is going to share the basics of anything going on let alone contract details.

I covered NU for a state paper from 1993-1998 and knew several players on a personal level. I would have never even thought of sharing information and breaking that trust. Comments will be someone's gut feeling and silence don't mean anything either way. I met SF many times and have a hard time believing he would go anywhere else, but that was also 20 years ago and people change.

Having said that, this is my complete speculation based on trusted sources and some logic:

1) This is not only an opportunity for SF, but for almost every member of his staff. This is a career advancement and major pay raise for everyone of them as well. Staying at CF is a risk and set back for everyone of those guys that right now have a life-changing opportunity sitting there for the taking. I don't see him staying at Central Florida if offered a larger job. If he planned on staying, he would be wasting everyone's time by not stating it.

2) Spurrier said " the Gators will have “an excellent coach here in 3-4 weeks.” He went on to add: “The coach is with his team now. The coach we’re going to hire is probably, I would almost 100 percent say, is coaching his team today, this weekend, and through the end of the season, and maybe through the bowl game.” That sounds more like Steve Peterson in 2003, than someone who has nailed down a coach.

3) Moos has come out and informed UCF that we want Frost. He made it very clear and he doesn't sound like a guy that would make a public statement like that without some level of confidence in delivering. If it's common courtesy, then why hasn't Florida made the same declaration? Likely because they don't have any confidence in landing him.

4) Moos has showed this courtesy to UCF, but no one else. He didn't extend it to Washington State. He didn't extend it to TCU, or Iowa State, or Miss State. He also seems like a guy with a plan B with his short list of coaches. So why hasn't he informed any other schools of his intent?

5) Frost's agent isn't an idiot. You have multiple bidders coming after your client, you are not going to eliminate your negotiating position by telling one of them no until you have something worked out. But at the same time you don't want one of them to drop out by hiring another coach before you move the needle. You want people to believe you could go either way.

So this leads me to believe that there is an active negotiation going on with SF and NU. And there is probably talk going on with Florida as well, but it sure seems like NU is a lot more confident. It sure seems like we have our guy.

Don't you know? No one needs information or knowledge to tell everyone how they feel about a topic or even to predict what will happen. There was a time when making predictions was reserved for experts on a particular topic. Now everyone can make a prediction and have an amplifier for others to hear their opinion due to social media.

I appreciate speculation and casual chat like anyone else does, but the number of people who state opinions as facts is a bit unsettling to me.

It's rare that people post "in my opinion" or "if i had to guess" - instead they jump to conclusions with no knowledge. In the past two days, I've seen men called the devil because they wanted Nebraska football dead (huh?) to "Why would Kelly leave broadcasting, 90% of coaches stay" followed by a rattling off of retired football players as evidence.

People have seemingly lost their sense of humility and rarely say "I'm not really equipped to comment on that because I don't know"
