I am a Falcons fan and not a fan of hiring Belichick. My dream hire is Harbagh but I just do not see that happening. I do not really know enough about any of the others to make much of an opinion of them.

I know no coach wins titles without good teams, but Belichick has quite literally never accomplished diddly squat without Tom Brady.

Without Brady, he has a 45.1% win percentage, second worst all time among coaches with 180 games coached.

I don't know of any/many other situations like this. I know of coaches who didn't perform as well on less talented teams as they did with super talented teams, but are there other cases where a coach's career success was so tightly tied to one single player?

They interviewed Harbaugh. Honestly, I can see Harbaugh being attracted to it. Blanks isn't a guy you hear about getting all up in the business of the HC. Unless I've missed something, he appears to back off and let them do their thing. And seems to generally be a good guy to work for. I'd much rather have him that Belichick.

That Super Bowl collapse pretty much killed my Falcons fandom. I kept watching for another year or two, but 28-3 did me in. The Falcons are still my favorite team, but I'm not going out of my way to watch or keep up with them.

If that makes me a fair weather bandwagon fan, oh well.
