He's too talented to not use. I can see some suspension of some sort coming at some point maybe, but it would take a lot to get him kicked off the team. He's just too damn good, and its too easy for coaches to make the "Better in the program than in jail" argument, for better or worse.

Can't really dole out a punishment (or severe ties to the program) until the court case is resolved.
This seems to be the case. Great kid, great teammate, does a lot of work in the community. I don't see the staff turning their back on him if he wants to come back.
That is good to hear ... I’m sure the coaches will make the right decision but taking emotion out of it I don’t think anyone should be on scholarship for a 6th year unless there is an expectation of seeing significant playing time. This would mean we have one fewer scholarship to offer in the upcoming class .. a class that is already going to be on the small side.

Maurice Washington is going to be a special one for us before he goes to the NFL. Dudes one of those game changers we see on teams like Clemson, Bama., OU and teams like that. Can’t wait to see this young man when he’s a senior playing for our Huskers. Martinez and Washingtons senior year will be a special one...believe that....GBR

Well of course nothing can be official until the court resolves the case one way or the other. Hopefully next upcoming court date. Maybe, just maybe some plea deal agreement now has been reached and will be presented at the next court appearance.
Junior year. Studs go pro early most of the time. Hopefully we get used to that again.
That’s what I’m hoping too. USUALLY first time offenders (guys with no priors) get off easier and better deals are given. I honestly feel he will get probation and fines and allowed to continue his Husker career. Like everyone...I hope to get this over with and behind us. GBR
Anyone else want to claim our Huskers aren’t getting more physical? They are done being pushed around by the likes of Iowa and Wisconsin. Frost has these boys fighting hard. I can’t wait for the season to start. GBR
I do like what I’m seeing but off-season fluff is just that. I want to see them walk the walk before I jump too far in to the pitcher..
