That’s according to InsideNU, who confirmed it with NU. That means that Falzon, a redshirt junior, won’t be back next season despite having a year of eligibility remaining. NU now has another scholarship to recruit/sign a transfer with.

Damn. Either he is choosing to leave (but not in the portal yet) or CCC must be goddamn confident that he has a boat load more of signings to come. If we go into next years with either two empty schollies or those schollies given to the walk-ons, then it's time to start calling for heads to roll.

For those counting at home, that leaves 6 open scholarships, 2 signed commitments, one verbal and not much time left on the clock.

Hope it's not a Michael Ray Richardson scenario....

If you look at what we have next year, we have a lot of similar depth in Nance, Kopp, Behran, Turner and possibly Jones depending on how he is going to be used for two positions. Maybe even another grad transfer. And if all are healthy, where would Falzon's minutes come from? He has had a hard time getting healthy, would have his degree. Can understand why he might want to move on.

Hope it's not a Bill Foster sinking ship, when Walters, Pederson, Holmes and Nixon left a sinking ship. After the tourney season, I did not see this last two years of futility coming. So many variables as to why. Let's hope there won't be a mass exodus.

Both Ash and Falzon are decent students....AJ Turner is better than decent.

Separate from the Bball, I hoped they'd hang around to knock off a year plus at Kellogg.

To stick around, they have to see the opportunity to play. For Falzon, those minutes look pretty hard to come by with Kopp, Nance . Turner and Behran ready to play significant minutes. Ash would have a better chance of seeing minutes if he were healthy and able to come back.

I believe that this has much mpre to do with thr two years he missed due to injury than anything else. Suspect he still has pain and just decided to hang it up.

He stated in the inside Nu article that being honored at senior night doesn't necessarily mean he will not return he has not made a decision yet

he has had a rough go. wouldn't be surprised to see him try to play professionaly while his body gives h

Valid point. I believe there was a player from Illinois last year who went to Europe even though he had a year left....
