The fact is that some people are paying to watch kids who will earn more than they do, as friggin' college freshman. The system is broken.

How many people at the age of 18 could get bumps of up to 50k, 100k, or more in some cases and walk away from it? The NCAA didn't want to pitch in decades ago for the NFL's semi-pro league because the NCAA needed their share first and these kids were just damn lucky to make the NCAA and schools millions. These kids weren't apparently lucky just to be getting a free education. Sometimes old tag lines die hard and those in power will fight tooth and nail to keep their share no matter the consequences.
