It's nice to see that even some liberals are coming to the conclusion that the media is corrupt. Not good for our country.

Camille Paglia: Democrats are colluding with the media to create chaos

  • Camille Paglia is much more worried about the media than about the steady string of Trump-related scandals they claim to be uncovering.

In a Tuesday interview with the Washington Examiner, Paglia excoriated the press for its coverage of Trump's decision to fire FBI Director James Comey and his alleged sharing of classified information with Russian officials.

Fresh off a spirited panel with Christina Hoff Sommers hosted by the Independent Women's Forum, the iconic feminist dissident, who serves as a professor of media studies at the University of the Arts, accused journalists of colluding with the Democratic Party in an effort to damage the Trump administration.

"Democrats are doing this in collusion with the media obviously, because they just want to create chaos," she said when asked to comment on the aforementioned stories. "They want to completely obliterate any sense that the Trump administration is making any progress on anything."

The popular author, whose latest book was released in March, pointed to early struggles experienced by previous presidential administrations to illustrate the media's bias against Trump. "Obama's administration for the first six months was chaos," Paglia recalled. "Bill Clinton's was chaos for six months. Nobody holds that against a new person."

"Those two guys had actually been politicians!" she continued, noting Trump's relative inexperience with government operations.

Paglia's assessment of media bias in the Trump era leaves little room for optimism. "I am appalled at the behavior of the media," she declared. "It's the collapse of journalism."

As the Examiner reported in April, Paglia, who cast her ballot for Jill Stein last November, is predicting Trump will win re-election in 2020. "I feel like the Democrats have overplayed their hand," she said at the time.

Though the news cycle has moved through plenty of additional scandals in the past month, it appears as though Paglia's assessment of the president's prospects has not changed.

"I'm looking forward to voting Democrat again," the acclaimed philosopher explained. "But the point is I feel that the media has so utterly lost its credibility that I think people are going to vote against the media again."

Blame everyone but Trump. Trump creates chaos and the media reports on it. Trump is a tweeting headline machine.

Even far left libs are noticing the media corruption. Trump is not blameless, but the media is going way overboard and shunning journalistic ethics and best practices to try and bring down Trump. This fact is beyond dispute. Media sourcing for many of these stories would not have made it past any editor in 2016.

You want to be a media critic yet you still can't tell the difference between a fact and an opinion, very basic stuff. As usual you need more remedial training.

I have no idea what you are talking about. The NY Times article, for example, on the Comey note on his Trump meeting was read to the Times over the phone. They don't have the notes. That is not journalism. It is a hit job.

If Paglia, a highly noted liberal feminist makes this observation, it must be very apparent.

I love your labels. You understand she despises Hillary? You do understand that people don't fit nicely in boxes or compartments like you want them to? You do understand that even among liberals, there are different viewpoints on certain topics?

But hey, if you being able to scrounge around the internet and find someone not in the conservative crowd that believes the media is corrupt, just like your orange god, makes you feel better about the disaster that is currently happening in the WH, I'm happy for you.

She voted for Jill Stein. She is a liberal, a far left liberal. That is a fact. The Harvard study proves everything I have been saying. The media is corrupt.

Even Bob Woodward agrees:

Woodward: Reporters 'binge drinking the anti-Trump Kool-Aid'

Veteran journalist Bob Woodward called on the national media Friday to keep focused on reporting straight news, after many reporters have revealed a bias against President Trump.

Friday on MSNBC, Woodward said he knows of too many reporters who have strayed from objectivity and shown an excessive hostility toward the White House.

"Stick to the reporting," he said. "Stick to the reporting. … One of the realities we have here is we have a good, old newspaper war going, the New York Times and the Washington Post and some very powerful stories. At the same time, I think it's time to dial back a little bit about because there are people around ... who are kind of binge drinking the anti-Trump Kool-Aid. And that is not going to work in journalism. Let the politicians have that binge drinking."

The White House has faced intense scrutiny on a daily basis with almost no abatement in recent weeks as news outlets have published a spate of articles on the president's firing of former FBI Director James Comey and federal investigations of the Trump campaign.

My money is on the same. I'll go one further and say some of the GOP lifers better be ready for a hell of a Primary fight.

We can blame both.

If I know my dog will **** in the house if I don't let him out, and I don't let him out and he ***** in the house.... is it his fault or mine?

They have tried to let the dog out (take his personal mobile phone and advise him not to make everyone the enemy). The dog wouldn't go out (give up his personal mobile phone or change his confrontational style). The dog just wanted to **** in the house (wouldn't listen to repeated sound advice from those around him).

Thanks for the analogy; I like it.

Trump will lose next round perhaps in primary and definitely general if he doesn't find some Jobs, Jobs, Jobs that pay better. Thus far Dems have delayed very effectively on acts he was going to execute the first day, week, month. If he is going to respond to ever tactic Dems toss to him. Trump needs to invest in a cheap set of earplugs and block out all the noise if he expects to get out of the gate in the next race. He has got to be producing by mid-term or he will be a one termer.

They are creating the narrative, making the charges (unsubstantiated) then blaming Trump for stirring the pot.
