What about the road to nowhere?
They ruined it. It goes somewhere now. From Lancaster to PSU Berks to Allentown. I wish it were there 50 years ago when I went to school. Instead of driving 45 minutes each way, every day, it's now 20. Of course, tuition was only $500 per trimester then.

The intersection of Red Lion Road and Roosevelt Boulevard is famous for being one of the most dangerous intersections in America.

Surprised no one mentioned the "Surekill Expressway"....possibly no one headed into Philly along the Schuylkill river calls it that anymore.
heading down to see concerts or ball games and they were working Gulph Mills section and inbound back in 70s. Nightmare.......

When I was 19 and after I graduated basic training and tech school, my first duty station was Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska. After I did my recruiters assistance, I drove from Delta PA to Rapid City SD (was dating a girl that got stationed ant Ellsworth AFB), turned N through ND, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and hit the ALCAN highway in Dawson Creek BC, then through the Yukon Territory into Alaska, before ending in Anchorage AK. 23 years later and I can still remember it like it was yesterday.
