Going to get into it this year. Anyone have a league that's accepting new members, want to start a lair league or have public league they recommend? Thanks

ESPN and Yahoo usually have decent free public leagues. They're a great way to get your feet wet.

Mix it up. Try leagues of different sizes.....though 10-12 members is probably best for newbies. Try different drafts.....snake, auction. Like anything in life you get better with information, team management, drafting, etc the more you do it. So just jump on in. I love it.

Also, after your first yr or two get a group of friends/family/coworkers together for a league. It's incredibly easy to set up once you know the basics of how to play. My work and friend leagues are my favorites because you know who you're playing.....set up stakes....trash talk...etc.

I also think one of the best things about fantasy sports is that it gets you watching things you normally wouldn't. Like in the NFL.....I love college and professional football but I wouldn't normally watch Seattle play Minnesota because I don't have a connection to either team......but if I had players on either side it's different. I used to watch hockey quite a bit but stopped for a good 10 yrs or so.....started playing in my friends league and started watching again.
