Does anyone think **** actually killed **** in the woods? I don't. They did not show it for a reason.

I thought they did show it, aerial view of it... Maybe you missed it or I just imagined it was there
They showed the aerial shot of her kneeing but I don't recall seeing her fall. I'm not sure why he wouldn't have shot her but I guess we'll find out.

Yeah, her kneeling I thought was a dead body laying. Not showing it could still be for dramatic reasons rather than plot, but we'll see soon enough if that's the case.

Bear went after Dodd like a crazy man after Dodd got Bear's kid involved in the assassination attempt and put him at risk. I doubt Bear would then turn around and execute Dodd's kid.

I think he banished her. Left her in the woods and told to run and never come back.

Same thing happened in Miller's Crossing. Gabriel Byrne's character leads Nick Turturro's character out in the woods to shoot him. Byrne's character is working for a gang who've tasked him with the deed. Turturro's character gets down on his knees and pleads for his life. Byrne spares his life, but tells him to leave the town they both operate in.
Can't say for sure that's what happened here, but bear seems to value family to the extent he wouldn't kill one of his own, even if she was a traitor.

That's what I thought. He banished her. I never saw her body fall or react in the aerial shot we saw.

Last night's episode was great. I was glad to see Hanzee just go ape **** on all those racist white people talking down to him. He serves our country in Nam and gets treated like he is nothing. I am rooting for him to win/survive, but I doubt that happens.

Just watched last nights episode. It was very tension filled. They never once let you feel comfortable that Dobbs was adequately secured when he was tied up.

These seasons go by too fast and there is waaaay too long between seasons. Why can't channels like FX follow similar season setups like the major networks. Their programming blows network programming out of the water. We have to wait until February before we can see "better call Saul" AMC is just as guilty.

It's because the programming is so good that the seasons are so short. On cable networks the budgets are bigger, writing is better and the casts are huge. For cable's best shows we're getting anywhere from 10 to 16 yearly episodes that are "made-for-TV movie" quality. If they had to crank out 30 yearly episodes the quality of programming would suffer.

They did a good job of hanging big ole boy, he looked the part. I do like the Indian character, Purple Heart and Bronze star MFer. Anybody know how many episodes are left?

2 more left.

Only 10 episodes, but seems like they are all 1:15-1:30 (with commercials of course), so it's like 12-15 episodes of screen time.

I think Seasons 2 has been fantastic. Very different than Season 1, but IMO, just as good. Seems like Aliens is the supernatural angle here. Not buying the Northern Lights explanation. Why would the Northern Lights surprise Rye Gearhart, a native of the area?

Question - what the 'massacre at Sioux City' that is referenced ins Season 1 - was that something that's already happened, like the Hanzee at the Bar or something left to come?

I'm hoping Season 3 goes back another 30 years and focuses on Ted Danson or Otto Gearhart.

Did anyone else notice when Ed was in the phone booth that someone had been scribbling a game of hangman on the window? It read, S_O_X F_LL_. Obviously, Sioux Falls. Pretty clever to use hangman to drop that hint.

The Sioux City Massacre is what is coming up. It's the reason Solverson gave up being a cop and opened a diner.

That hangman game was a nice touch. Both as a foreshadow to what was about to happen to him, and what is about to go down in Sioux City.

Not to be Mr. Technical here, but since it's now been misstated several times - it's Sioux Falls. (Sioux City is in Iowa).

I remember that when Lou referred to it in Season 1, he said that what had been going on then involved "evil the likes of which he hadn't seen since" the 1979 incident, and something about bodies reaching 2 stories if you were to stack 'em.

These final 2 episodes gon be goood.

Yep, you're correct. Wasn't paying attention.

Since the show is in the same universe as the movie, I wonder if there will be any actual characters from the movie who show up in later seasons. Maybe in the past Otto had some run-ins with that crook Stan Grossman in the Twin Cities, or Hanzee has a connection with Shep Proudfoot, haha. I love this show; I just wish there were more episodes.

Was not a fan of the flying saucer angle to the story. For me it kinda broke the spell. We were in a super-cool shootout and all of a sudden it's like, WTF!?! Not sure why they brought that into the story at all. Strange!

Agree, it's just out of place. I'm fine with all of the memorabilia, because that's how it was back then - but actual UFOs intervening in the episode? Ehh. That's why it was funny to see Dunst just blow it off.

I didn't mind the ufo. Apart from buying Lou some time in that particular instance, it didn't really change the arc to the story. I don't think it's going to influence much of the rest of the story either.

If Peggy and Ed unzip their faces and turn out to be aliens I'll be upset, but now nah.

The UFO stuff is 'mostly' superfluous, which is how it should be.

It's an homage to that Minnesota St. Trooper, I get that, but when it intervenes in the story arc, it bugs me.

Not enough so far, but last episode pushed it.

I had no idea about that, just looked it up. Val Johnson. That actually changes it for me completely.

Before, I just thought all the UFO stuff was because it was a hot topic in the late 70s - Close Encounters and all that.

Shoot, to set a story in 1979 around MN / SD, it makes total sense to mix in a bit of UFO stuff. Pretty cool after all. (But we don't need any more of it).

I just looked up Val Johnson and it came right up. Not sure how they'd expect the average fan to get the reference.

Yeah, I found the name by googling "Minnesota state trooper UFO" and it came right up. Even a wiki entry.

Thanks for the tip, HK.

Well, seasons over. Another what... Year and a half till the next season?

Finish was a little anticlimactic, would have liked to see how the Indian handled the bullies though. Loved the little homage to Raising Arizona at the beginning of the episode with the foreshadowing dream sequence.
