I hadn’t known about him. I had figured Rock Oliver was doing all of our training back in that era.

But he was obviously really good at what he did and one of our own. Said a prayer for his soul to be with Jesus and his family here to have peace and comfort.

Just looked up some tributes to him and his obituary. He was 87, lived in his home state of Rhode Island since he retired. served in the National Guard and the US Marine Corps was boxer in his youth – Golden Gloves champion, Rhode Island State light heavyweight champion 1959, nine professional fights with a 6-3 record before going to school to become an athletic trainer. Started at Brown University, then moved to Providence where he worked for Rick Pitino and Rick Barnes, before coming to Kentucky. Earned his nickname “fast“ due to his speed at wrapping injuries.

Rock was strength and conditioning and Edur was the athletic trainer.
