The Blur Dwight Anderson against Kansas.
I wish Anderson would have got to play in today's college basketball.
Most electrifying guard ever. He was something to behold.
He didn't have to take a backseat to anyone and that includes John Wall.
When I read the title of this thread I immediately thought of Anderson. He was a joy to watch.

Not really. Played the 3 but let him have it. The starting guards in ‘78 were Macy and Claytor

1978

PG Macy

SG Claytor

SF Givens

PF Robey

C Phillips

I will note that technically Givens did play a lot of 2G for the 1976 and 1977 teams for what is worth.
These were the players who played the most minutes on the 1978 National Champs:
Kyle Macy PG 1,097 minutes
Jack Givens SF 1,028 minutes
Rick Robey PF 915 minutes
Truman Claytor SG 788 minutes
James Lee PF 694 minutes

I know y'all get sick of reading my writing about the UK vs. Notre Dame game at Freedom Hall on December 30, 1978. The Blur absolutely took over the game in the last 10 minutes. About 6 or 7 straight times down the floor, Joe B. gave Dwight the ball at the head of the key, and sent the other 4 UK players to the baseline, and he let Dwight go to work. He went 1-on-4 about six or seven straight time down the floor. Notre Dame absolutely could not stop him ! It was an incredible performance !

One of the twins beat UL in a last second shot in the NCAA....
That was against Michigan first, then Wisconsin.

As far as great guard performances, I'll take Jodie Meeks v UT and Louie Dampier v Vanderbilt in 1966 when we beat 4th ranked Vandy at Nashville when they had Clyde Lee.

I remember that. Anderson was unstoppable and we got a come from behind win.
