I actually think Berry is going to be pretty good and I thought Roy should have played him more. Having said all of that- it doesnt help at all defend his moronic and off base comments about Tyus and now Melo, like dude- they both VASTLY OUTPLAYED your guy....get over it.

P.S. Since it's Gary, i'm sure the Refs had something to do with it.

Ha anyone ever noticed his avatar ? Just saying. OFC

Somehow Berry, who couldn't even start on the same exact UNC team last season, is better than another guy in his class that garnered All-American recognition? Boy, Gary has lost whatever marbles he had left

Gary must have a double degree with one in UNC Homerism and a major in stupidity. How anyone with even a dimes worth of common sense can compare Joel Berry to Tyus Jones has got to have a mental deficiency or either be 7 years old. Does this boy not know that Jones led Duke to the big piñata this year. Lord please look after the homeless and the stupid.

Pretty sure the number of UNC offers out to kids in 2016 are somewhere in the teens....that should tell you something.

Someone linked the scout article about the violations discovered by UNC. Specifically, the article says: "While preparing a series of emails related to the Wainstein Report for public release, the University discovered "additional examples of possible instances of improper academic assistance" provided to several former women's basketball players." Displaying a complete inability to overlook the article he just read, Mistercvr4 posts this:

"Wait, You mean to tell me the NCAA overlook something additional findings on the Waintsein report? For which they had all along and never mention it in the NOA? This is straight BS. UNC should tell the NCAA to go straight to mutha French hell."

Come again? UNC discovered the improprieties, conveniently right before they had to respond to the NOA in a deliberate attempt to delay. Nevertheless, this is all the NCAAs fault? Has anyone affiliated with UNC ever accepted fault for problems UNC created itself?

Wow.. You literally have to try and be that ignorant. Wrong word, I'm sorry, stupid.

Lets get the week started off on the right foot. First, checking in with old crazy Gary:

"If you think for one second that MBB is going to get hammered by the NCAA then you better check the tin foil in your own hat for short circuits."

At some point, we need to start admiring his total state of denial.

And now, the one you've all been waiting for, courtesy of tarheels0015:

"I hate too see more reported .. I am ready for this to be over ... least UNC has enough balls to admit to possible violations instead of covering up things"

WHAT!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! This guy must be related to Rip Van Winkle, or at the very least have been in a coma for the better part of the last decade. UNC did everything in its power to cover this entire scandal up until the NCAA finally stepped in. On second thought, maybe this guy is related to Gary?

The one thing that gives me comfort about Gary-7 is the fact that I honestly don't believe he's ever been right about a single thing. That's an almost impossible achievement, so I give him kudos for that.

SK1310 discussing the impact of missing out on Sacha Killeya-Jones

"Allen, Bradley, Bolden, DeLaurier, Huell and Markkanen are all better.... Complain if we don't land 1 of those kids.."

Newslash: You're not getting any of these guys.

Yeah, none of the elite are signing for UNC...at least for now. The thing that is funny about Sacha is that if he had picked Carolina there would have been 20 different threads over there talking about how the Heels were back, and all the Duke & Pack fans could screw themselves. But now...Sacha pretty much sucks. Gotta love it!

It's kind of sad those guys still think they will be able to land a top-50 recruit, much less a 5-star, in this recruiting cycle. UNC fans should grow accustomed to players like Luke Maye and Kenny Williams, because high-end talent is going to be pretty lean in Chapel Hill for the foreseeable future.

Luke Maye will be a 20 and 10 guy. In the NBA.

Also, does anyone else think this thread should be pinned at the top of the board? I think future generations of Blue Devils should have easy access to all of these hilarious posts.

What say you @denniden and @dukiejay ??

I for one think the days of great basketball recruiting at UNC is probably just a fond memory for the unc fans for more than a couple of years. The once greatness of the basketball program may be on the verge of collapse where recruiting is concerned. Everyone at UNC keeps saying things won't get better util this storm blows over but like weather storms there will be much damage left from the storm. Lets hope so just to see the naysayers at UNCheat squirm in misery.

Here is what imajericho said about Nate Britt, that he was far and away considered the best PG in his class before injury. Strange but Rivals had Britt 90th overall in his class. I find it pretty amazing that all of the unc players are the best at what they do.

I guess imajericho forgot about few other PG's.

The post is about Dennis Smith and his coming back from his injury.

"And, remember, Britt was considered far and away the best PG in his class till his injury."

you cannot compare these two.All Tyus did was to win a NC, while Britt will probably get an AFAM degree which will qualify him as the head cashier at Cookout

Anything that Keysersosay1 posts is a real knee slapper especially with respect to the Lance Toma$ Coverup. He loathes Coach K (vader) with a passion. He is so pathetic, I always envision him holding his breath and turning ox blood red as he posts on Duke related topics.

I think this whole thing will blow over for UNC and they'll become the program they once were.....but that doesn't mean others still won't have fun at their expense. I mean, heck, people still go after UK and that was 25+ years ago.

The biggest challenge for UNC will be our biggest challenge too, and that's replacing a legendary coach. I'm not comparing K and Roy because I think it's obvious who's better and more revered, but no matter what we say about Roy he's still pretty successful with an impressive resume. Both teams are going to be presented with challenging transitions within the next 6-8 years.

Gary delivers yet again. This time talking about the recruitment of Tony Bradley:

"I left out Bradley because I'm still trying to flesh out the scuttlebutt. Word is that Avery Johnson at bama has set his sights on him, which normally wouldn't even register, except that Johnson is quite the used car salesman and bama has few if any scruples, shall we say."

If the 20+ year AFAM scandal has taught us anything, it's that UNC is totally an upstanding institution. Gary is past the point of delusion. It's honestly scary to consider how he views reality.

I saw that, Mark, and I almost swallowed my tongue! I sometimes feel like I shouldn't enjoy seeing Heel fans in such misery, but when I read such garbage as that...that thought melts away.

Do you guys think a junior Meeks will better than a soph or freshman Meeks or will the freshman Meeks be better than both the soph. and junior Meeks.Does the future junior Meeks have a chance to be better than the future senior Meeks or will the future junior Meeks be so good that he will be a lottery pick which will certainly make him better than the freshman and soph. Meeks and the future senior Meeks will not even be factor at all. This is just something for all of you basketball gurus to discuss and ponder. Once again any Tar Heel fans who probably more qualified on this matter are invited to join in this discuss this topic. OFC

Or is a senior Meeks finally better than a freshmen Okafor? Is a junior Meeks better than a hypothetical sophomore Okafor? Is a pro Meeks better than a high school senior Okafor?

Why is the sky blue? What is the meaning of life? And so on.

I don't even understand how a UNC fan 1) has the scruples to suggest another school doesn't have scruples, and 2) how they still live in this magical kingdom where they're above everyone else. It's flabbergasting.
