Hilarious actually, to see TarHeel fans whining about walking. Every Cherokee Indian on the Trail of Tears didn't even take as many steps as Hansbrough took in his career. Cry me a river.
Now that has to be the funniest thing ever

No Duke player speaks fondly of the place after leaving Duke?? Seriously??? I think it is the total opposite.

See, this is just it. Does anyone think Allen was a flopper/leg kicker/ head whipper before he got to Dook?

K teaches this garbage- actually, he indoctrinates them with it in basic training. It's why no Dook player speaks fondly of the place after escaping and is also why K is the biggest hypocritical prick in college sports.

Makes sense. That's why over 10 former players were back this past weekend. That's why all of K's assistants are former players. That's why two dozen or so come back every summer for the K Academy. That's why even more come back over the summers to work out.

How big of an idiot do you have to be to even think something like that is true....let alone to type it out? It proves that stupid people say stupid things.

Anyone with some time on their hands should go through this thread and pick out their top 10 idiotic comments made, because arguably this could be number one. this isn't stupid, it's just ignorant.

None of the NBA players who've played for USA Basketball under K have ever said anything good either....

And that's the thing with UNC fans. They somehow assume they represent the masses.

I won't pretend that everyone outside of Chapel Hill adores Coach K, or even that all former players he's coached or coached against have the utmost respect for him. None of us are liked by all. And sure, there's people who say nice things just to say it....but they don't mean it. I get that. But...but, K is much more respected nationally than what they will ever acknowledge, and it drives them absolutely insane. Hell, that's what half this thread is about....pointing out their delusions.

You see folks at THR making fun of this thread and implying it's here because of our obsession with them. Well, that's partly right. We're laughing at them...and that's become an obsession because they're sometimes so good at being complete idiots.

Gary's comment in the thread about Roy's future replacement might have that beat:

"Oh, and BTW, Alabama brought in a different coaching system but they kept their way of doing things ---cheating. The Red Elephant Club is alive and well and is operating just as it was under that old drunk crook Bear Bryant, the dirtiest coach who ever coached anything.

Dean Smith on the other hand, came in and cleaned up the mess from Frank McGuire's shenanigans and built what is Carolina Basketball. It is a beautiful, archetype of a system and the RIGHT way of doing things."

Wow.

One of their posters last week --- and I'm too lazy to go back, look it up and get the exact quote --- didn't just imply that Pitino knew about the shenanigans happening at Louisville, he said he had to know. He also thought Pitino should absolutely be fired even if he didn't know because it happened under his watch.

I wonder if Heels fans think the same logic should have applied to Dean Smith and currently to Roy Williams? I doubt it, but that Louisville thread on their board was pure, comedic gold.

I honestly hadn't been over in months, but went back just to like this one and the one that said when they thing UNCheat basketball, they think of the great men they become. Haha.

Old fart Gary on the key to tonight's game:

As much as I hate it and as much as it shouldn't be the case, THE key in modern Carolina-dook games has consistently been the officiating. Whoever gets to the line most wins. I'd like to blow them out and moot that point, but we know what we're up against. Refs bailing out their ill-advised drives took them all the way to an ill-gotten championship last season.

The game is still 6.5 hours away, and they're already complaining about the refs. Amazing.

SJUng.
He is who he is. The bottom line is we're always at a disadvantage facing K because he's a better coach. And no longer do we have substantially better talent.

How do you not put this game away? Roy with no time out to set a play. The officiating called somewhat even. Paige laying egg after egg. Without Brice it would have been embarrassing. Roy and the team minus Brice is to blame.
You can spin this how every you want. Your greatest rival on the ropes and they two point you to death. This team is pitiful. No other way to look at it. I hope they all go pro.

I hate to say it but the criticism of this team has to be harsh and needs to be harsh.

Roy has given Dook at least 4 wins in the last 5 years with terrible coaching. Just awful.

Kennedy Meeks is worthless at this point in the season and Isaih Hicks who has played well struggled mightily.

Marcus Paige. Who the hell is the kid wearing his jersey? He is awful for the majority of the year. Missing shot after shot. Getting abused on defense. Missing key free throws.

Meeks and Paige carry a heavy burden on our failure this year given their expected output.

Did I say how awful Roy Williams has been? Geez. There's no excuse in us not using timeouts to calm the kids and emphasize getting the ball back in the paint. We completely went away from that the last 12 minutes and nothing changed. We didn't do anything down the stretch and with a chance to win we don't call a timeout to set something up? Great job Roy. Daggum idiot. His words.

This team has been an utter disappointment for 3 straight years. I don't know why I expected anything different this year.

they never had it rolling......they were ahead sure...but you are playing duke you know they shoot as well as a person breathes....they would have been rolling if they were up by 18 instead of 4-5 pts....Marcus paige stinks...he needs to be on the bench if he cant do any better....Meeks stinks.... I would start Hicks any day of the week......they are chokers.....plain and simple.....they do not have any killer instinct,,,,,they will not make the sweet 16......

I'm done! 3 yrs straight of bs like this. Thank god baseball season is here then football is next! God, I used to live for Carolina basketball. Not anymore

I did enjoy the obligatory Gary post-game thread, and in the least surprising news on the planet today, he quickly referenced and complained about officiating. To the credit of a lot of the other posters, they almost uniformly are telling him that is a ridiculous notion. They are doing it with kid gloves because he is one of their own, and not the full-on assault on his idiocy that is deserved, but even so.

What a sad sad life to lead. There is plenty of blame to go around on why they lost if I'm them and it starts at the top. Roy blew that game.

We will take it and our kids never quit. Never stopped fighting. Never gave in or gave up. I guess the "leader of men," in stills such horrible traits in his players.

Here's the quote from Gary I love the most....

"The point is we didn't feed the post late because our Bigs were being held. That was no surprise. It was the smart thing for dook to do because they were overmatched in the paint once the ball got in there. And further, the point is there was no surprise those were not gonna get called down the stretch. And even if it did get called that would force us to win at the line. In other words, Roy, the players and everyone involved knew that was the scenario.

Thus, the point is that I believe Roy should have called TO earlier in the stretch run to makesure we set up proper screen action so that Brice had the opportunity to touch the ball as opposed to relying on the Freelance offense under those very predictable circumstances. That's on Roy.

And finally, the point is you can't win in the modern game by being one-dimensional. Most of the jump shots were not "stupid", we just didn't make the open looks. And BTW, pretty much every one of our 3-balls were good looks and good shots. We were 1/13. That's on our players. (And if we had made just a couple more of those jumpers nobody would be on here bitching about them)

The point is also that the officiating by ACC standards was at least competent enough so that we should win that game 9 out of 10 times. The fact is we didn't. That's on the team. So spare me the damned sanctimony."

"This. All day. People still don't get it. The elite brainiacs love the Duke school boy image and will place them in favorable positions every time. Half or more of their titles are completely handed to them because they always have the easiest bracket."

This is actually from some clown on the UK board. They all love to fall back on the "Duke always gets the easiest bracket!" ********. And that the committee purposely does it. What a fvcking joke.

Actually.....there are a few sane ones, but you have to go to their off-topic board to find them.

LOLZ at Mr. 'Stats and Stuff' blaming the refs down the stretch for us losing. Seriously couldn't have asked for a game officiated any better for us; they didn't even reward Allen for his patented "flail into the paint and draw a block" move except for maybe like one or two times.

What's even funnier is he comes back to say his post went over some heads. I laughed pretty well at that one. He isn't intelligent enough to get his point across so, like blaming the refs before the game even starts, he blames everyone else.

Dude is insufferable and reason numero uno that I can't post very much on Radar. He's smarter than you and knows more about basketball than you'll ever know. Don't believe it, just ask him. And don't dare dispute with one of his points or he'll hit you with a "GMAFB with that BS."

Oh and don't you know he's a damn expert on all things Alabama Crimson Tide dirty laundry and impropriety!!!11!! Because you know, his alma mater Auburn was sooooo by-the-book, especially in the 1980's.

I find most of his responses/posts douchey and snobbish. I also love how he takes credit for an idea or thought someone else had by saying things like, "I had this thought last night (or I was telling a fiend of mine) about blah, blah and I wake up this morning to an article from whomever verifying my brilliance." I mean talk about vain.

Every single one of his posts are exactly what you say, douchey and snobbish. I LOL at how he's got his few disciples that worship at his alter and hang on his every word.

He also browbeats the s*** out of people who speak up and disagree with him (and are often way more correct than him, to be honest) and he's never kept in check by mods or posters on there with respected seniority.

He seems incapable of carrying on a conversation with someone who disagrees with him. I'm not sure if it's because he just can't stand being wrong or has some kind of personality disorder.

I remember I disagreed with him on something once and all he did was throw a tantrum without saying anything constructive back to me. I can't remember what it was about, but it was a good while ago. I haven't bothered replying to a thread of his since. It's like he thinks he is king of the board because he has this small group of guys who worships him and drools on their monitors staring at what he posts (the whole "I love your posts! You should right a book!" comment someone made to him recently made my sides hurt). Because of his entitlement, it's like he believes you're insane just having the gall to even think about disagreeing with him or something. Clearly has issues.

That message board isn't very surprising. Living in the state of NC behind enemy lines my entire life, I am well aware of how superior they believe themselves to be, regardless of their lack of knowledge when it comes to sports or even for their own team.

My best friend is a Tar Heel and we've always been able to talk basketball with respect for one another's knowledge. Unfortunately he is far outnumbered by ignorant "Walmart fans" as you all know them lol. What I'm getting at is that for every tolerable UNC fan you can have a legit conversation with, there are about 10-15 that will make your ears bleed.
