I actually think dadika is one of the more reasonable posters at THR. If he's praising Gary for his insights, then they truly have lost all hope.
Why would anyone complain about Duke's only verbal so far? That is the question I want to know. Alex is a very good player and is trending up and has been for a while. There is a reason Duke go in when they did.@RoseHeel showing he doesn't know how numbers work:
1. No one complains that Dook's one and only commit being Alex O'Connell. He wasn't top 100 more than 2 months ago and is barely even Top 100 now.
Latest rankings have him at #44 in the Class of 2017. He was #69 before the updated rankings. In what world is that "barely even top 100"?

Been a while since we heard from one of our favorites but when he decides to poast one it's always worthy to put on this thread. Can you believe this one. I think even his thr buddies may think the place he is in may be need to take away his internet privileges. OFC
Can't believe Murphy is still hanging around. To refresh everyone's memory, Murphy is the only 5-star player in history to be red-shirted. K, The Leader of Men not only did this to this man, but also forced Murphy to transfer. He also convinced Murphy to give up his last year in high school.
Over the last several years K has convinced 3 players to forgo their last year in high school. Alex "Can't Miss" Murphy, Andre "Bail Out" Dawkins and Derrick Thornton. The common thing about all of them is that he abused them all.
He forced Murphy and Thornton to transfer and Dawkins graduated with mental problems caused, in part my K's actions. Dawkins is a ready a sad case. I'm still praying for the young man..
K, the Leader of Men.
but when he puts one up it's classic.
Guys I just read the whole thread so far and even their mod Mike Irby supported the post. Our comrade tw3301 defended Coach K so his time there is coming to an end. Thanks tw3301 but you are a sitting duck. The whole thread is so thr like. II know from the things I post here that most of you may think I'm the most unc hater there is. Not so. I don't hate first of all. I even respect hof coach roy williams. Not to say I will not pass up any opportunity to rag on him though. I don't hate their players or the university itself. I don't hate their fan base because many good friends and family are unc fans. But I do disdain those at thr. They get me fired up. There's only been a couple of them that I truly enjoyed seeing them post, tilador and txheel and they don't post anymore. I truly wish Mike Irby well and hope he defeats cancer as well as our own gottagonow but Mike shame on you. This has to be the most ignorant thread I've ever seen posted on any board. If some one did that here I would have an enemy fellow Duke fan. Forget that a Duke fan would never do that. I hope some of them read this and respond . I want to see what how you feel and why. It wouldn't even be allowed to stay up here. OFC
You obviously never took an AFAM course so you have no right to question their conclusions lol@RoseHeel showing he doesn't know how numbers work:

Shame on all of them. And especially shame on the mods who condone such nonsense. If you want to post about the early entries and their lack of success go right ahead. But to comment on the alleged mental health issues of Dawkins and blame it on K when the young man had to battle the inner demons of having lost his sister in a car accident on her way to watch him play is absolutely disgusting. Again shame on all of them for taking a rivalry so serious that comments like that see the light of day.
The Dawkins comments are despicable. Truly despicable. The poster shoul be ashamed and the mods should be embarrassed they allow that type of thing.
I saw that they put the muzzle on the mods at the OOTB board members that were fed up with mods and other posters on the regular board. Which is too bad. The mods agreeing with something like what they said about Dawkins is just sad. i understand sticking up for your program against nay saying people, but to outright say that K is responsible for Dawkins and his dealing with a tragic loss....seriously bad human beings if they truly buy in to that. The mods agree with it, though. That's why that there's been such a revolt of that board by UNC fans. Not because of this post specifically, but speaking in generalities. RaisingHeel, or something like that, had a genius post on their OOTB board that spoke to exactly that and publicly called out Mike and the other mods. In fact, when a group of pretty rational UNC fans broke off and used OOTB as a board to discuss UNC hoops, the mods put a muzzle on them and shut down the thread.
Steat is one of two things, or both....he's 1) trying to get you guys going, and 2) he's an idiot. I lean on both.
But that whole thread is kind of an example of the insecurity UNC fans have when it comes to K. Very few, if any, shot down Steat's theories, but rather, they blindly supported them. I still fail to follow how K wronged any of the three he mentioned. If Dawkins was wronged, no signs point to it....at least from him. He's still back on campus every summer playing with former teammates and current guys. For a guy who "should" be pretty angry he's doing one helluva job hiding it.
As for Thornton....it's just an angle they're going to try and make that will shed any bad light on K. Period. Hell, Thornton played PG for Duke as a true freshman averaging 26mpg. Pretty much all of the comments made --- for the most part by Derryck's family --- suggest clearly that he wasn't happy with how he was used and was looking for a better fit. I think he was also afraid of a little competition....but that's just my opinion.
Alex is a good kid....it just didn't work out. He was probably a little over-hyped and on top of that, he hasn't been able to catch a break when it comes to injuries. Hopefully the young man is able to put together a solid senior campaign at Northeastern.
It is what it is, skysdad. I wouldn't worry about it. Although it is refreshing to finally see many UNC fans calling that place what it is....
Steat is high on Wanda's nanner pudding. Could it be the sleep king himself? Roy is that you my friend?
I hope they are mesmerized. The guy is the winningest coach in D1 history, has 5 national championships, 12 final fours, 3 olympic golds, 2 world cups, has countless NBA players singing his praises and gets guys to be the best versions of themselves. And that is bad because....?This from another real winner over there, Archer.
"The LOM is all about the LOM. He always has been and always will be. Yet he continues to mesmerize these young kids."

Alex would have gotten plenty of PT over at UNC. They do run the "everyone plays because that is what is fair" thing over there. (all kidding aside, when Roy plays his best players the most minutes, he usually wins big)WWJD:
"But back to Murphy.... I'm glad to see him get a final chance. IIRC we offered him, too. I bet he would have worked out fine here. Maybe he wasn't really 5-star talent. Who knows? But Roy would have helped him develop and he would have gotten decent PT every year. 'Cause that's how Roy does things."

Yep, Alex would have been all set if he went with Roy and Roy's "development." Amazing.
Can't wait for "this person" to retire. What absolute losers over there.
Just so i follow your suggestion- if i play the best players the most minutes i'll win? genius idea.Alex would have gotten plenty of PT over at UNC. Archer should have left it at "I agree." Pretending to know how anyone (let alone a perfect stranger) deals with the loss of life with any kind of certainty is just idiotic.tw3301 said: ↑
"I don't post here much because I'm a Duke fan and this is your board but to blame Dawkins' "mental problems" on K and not the fact that the young man's sister was killed in a car accident is a little ridiculous. I get that you guys hate K, comes with the rivalry, but I don't see how you can suggest that a tragic death in the family and the effects it had on Andre (which are understandable) are somehow his coach's fault."
And loser Archer's response:
"I agree for the most part. But I can't help but think if he'd had more support from the LOM while at dook, he may have handled what happened to his sister more successfully."
Still trying to somehow fault K concerning Andre's family tragedy. What a total A hole.
It is a novel idea, I know.Just so i follow your suggestion- if i play the best players the most minutes i'll win? genius idea.
