Exactly, they need to limit transfers to once in 4 years unless there is a coaching change. Allow the schools to be able to recoup money if they sit out or leave, and allow them to not pay if they don’t play. It needs to be fair for both sides with protections all the way around for both sides.

I think given the recent legal decisions, that is not enforceable short of collective bargaining.

I think the current answer is to remove the nil restriction of performance based incentives. That was put in place thinking athletes needed protection from the big bad wolf, but that is obviously far from the case.

Remove the restriction on incentives and it solves itself in a way that doesn't run afoul of recent rulings.

I am very confident that Mensah will be at Miami next season … but we shall see the Washington situation is similar but different but I’ll digress we shall see

Where he will be is an entirely different question than the enforceability of the contract. The contract is absolutely enforceable. Doesn't mean Duke might just abandon it to avoid a PR hit, or Miami might buy out the contract, etc.

So those are separate issues. Fwiw i think its probably 51/49 him being at Miami. I think Miami knew what they were getting into and are willing to buy out that deal.

That’s what needs to happen. It needs to be employment agreement with a union and commissioner to enforce the conference rules.

NIL is paying a player for his name image and likeness. LOL at doing pay for play and crying about enforceable contracts. Make the athletes employees if you want enforceable contracts. They always cry when it’s not the elite benefiting.
Meh. He probably wanted some elite coeds in Miami.

It does but that is a long time in the making. Pro sports is easy because its a finite group. This will take years because you need every collegiate athlete to sign on.

The only logistical way to get that done is have that agreement be part of the clearing house submission. That's the process for academic eligibility. It would be 5 years to get everyone signed on.

Until then, just remove that weird restriction and pure contract law and free market will immediately solve it. I have no idea why the ncaa prohibited the incentives, but that sole restriction is what is causing the devastation of the products we so dearly loved.
