I miss 1 n 2 jocking out in hs IT WAS THE BEST! Cheers Dad.Enjoying a beer (Rolling Rock was in the garage fridge. Thought I had others but alas……). Thinking about how my daughter’s track team won their third consecutive state track title with her providing a great finishing leg in the 4x200 and how proud I am that all 4 daughters have gotten through high school and have clear career paths for themselves. So much more focused than their father.

Like vertical climbing or hiking? We wouldn’t hate a picGin and tonic. Looking at mountain out back and trying to think which route I would take to climb it. Have been looking at it for 16 years and never attempted it. It’s over 9,000 ft tall. I’m sitting at 6200 ft.

Beautiful! Once you finish your cocktail, take the vertical edge closest to the left face. Give us a detailed report.
Thems there fly fishing elevations if there’s water. My main exposure to hiking (ne’er a climber I be) has been in the Sierra Nevada and my main takeaway is it all depends on the composition of the ground. Too loose and it’s far worse than running on a beach to go too directly vertical, and likely more dangerous. Tackle the first 1000’ aggressively and return to plot a master plan maybe?Wyoming

Sorry for your loss, @LionJimBuried a cousin today. Given that the cemetery is ten minutes away, we had the reception at my house. Saw a lot of my cousins, lovely people, accomplished people, we’re all very close, very supportive, each other’s biggest cheerleaders.
She bought it a long time ago BK (Before her Kid, who is now 14). She kept it through the years. It's a black 5 speed hard top (no convertible available at that time). Not sure how many miles as it was a "weekend car"Confirming rte 1 princetonsucks balls. Tell me about the cayman![]()

Who parked it?Sorry I missed this thread last night.
Had dinner with a friend at a nice place just north of Princeton. Had a Boulevardier (Woodford Reserve) to start and a Malbec with dinner (Braised Short Rib). Passed on the Grand Marnier with dessert - although it was tempting.
Here is what I thought about after dinner on the 35 minute drive home
1. I hate Route 1 through Princeton
2. I have known my friend for 30 years and it's hard to believe time has gone so quickly.
3. It was funny that the valet could not get her car because she brought out her 20+ year old Cayman with a 5 speed and he did not know how to drive stick. So she had to get her car herself.
4. Thought about my mom's upcoming 84th birthday. And how I am noticing some things about her that are signs she is slowing down.
5. All in all, my life has been pretty good. At the age of 60 no major health threats, no significant economic stress, and generally life is good.

The older valet who left early for the night.Who parked it?
Much like sports if she takes the work ethic she put into ballet into other things - including her studies- she will be fine.A true joy reading these gents; thanks for sharing. I was watching ‘The Brutalist’ and coming to terms with my daughter’s decision to give up ballet so she can focus on school. Bittersweet but the right call I think. Appreciate all of you.
This, 100%. She’ll be fine.Much like sports if she rages the work ethic sge out into ballet into other things - including her studies- she will be fine.
Either way she has to stay on her toesA true joy reading these gents; thanks for sharing. I was watching ‘The Brutalist’ and coming to terms with my daughter’s decision to give up ballet so she can focus on school. Bittersweet but the right call I think. Appreciate all of you.
Wut?As long as she only does one thing at a time.
Isn't she like 10? She shouldn't have to quit an activity ... one activity ... to focus on school ... especially at that age. Not only because that activity shouldn't be encompassing that much of her life, but, also, because she shouldn't be struggling for whatever level of school achievement you've imprinted on her is "acceptable."A true joy reading these gents; thanks for sharing. Delete. What I had wasn’t good enough.
I know this area fairly well as my father and I backpacked the Susquehannock Forest Trail back in May of 1976 before I started Penn State in the fall. Have done a bit of camping with my wife and kids in that area over the years as well. Interestingly I ended up in Potter House in Snyder Hall when I started Penn State.Spent all day in the Wilds of Potter County in the remote, no roads section on Upper Kettle Creek casting dry flies at rising trout in the middle of nowhere. Winding down with a bottle of Twomey Anderson Valley Pinot Noir.
Hitting Young Women’s Creek tomorrow and The Cross Fork on Sunday.
