I know this area fairly well as my father and I backpacked the Susquehannock Forest Trail back in May of 1976 before I started Penn State in the fall. Have done a bit of camping with my wife and kids in that area over the years as well. Interestingly I ended up in Potter House in Snyder Hall when I started Penn State.
We met a recent Penn State EE grad on the trail who was about to start grad school. He told me to give a call to his frat when I arrived for school, which I did, but I always missed him being at the house. Once classes were in full swing I gave up trying to reach him. A couple years later my friends who were EE majors kept on talking about this great TA they had for some of their classes and the name sounded familiar. For St. Patty’s day my senior year, my roommate and I went out to a bar to meet this TA and suddenly I realized who he was, the guy I had met on the Susquehannock Forest Trail!
