Considering their offense over the past several seasons, a completed pass for 3+ yards is an explosive play.
True. He is a very good QB, definitely much better than what Iowa has had the last 3-4 yrs. You'll have to excuse them as they're not used to seeing a completed pass further than 5 yards in the air.
To be fair though, the kid is a 2-time national champion and put up a ton of numbers at South Dakota State. If he has a line to protect him and decent weapons, he'll be a difference maker and something they haven't seen on that side of the ball in a while.
Yeah - because we are on the same level as IOWA - Idiots out walking around. If that was a wide receiver who caught the pass this would be cause for celebration in Happy Valley as well.
That play would have beaten Notre Dame. Too soon?If that was a wide receiver who caught the pass this would be cause for celebration in Happy Valley as well.
We, as a whole, certainly not same level as Iowa. That said what level would you put our wide receivers at last year? Idiots like me are desperate for your wisdom.Yeah - because we are on the same level as IOWA - Idiots out walking around.
Iowa fans are still dreaming about having a QB who is even half as good as Chuck Long was. The dude last played there in 1985. For the past thirty plus years as offenses have evolved, Iowa has simply been plodding along. When Cade McNamara transferred in, Hawkeye fans were jubilant thinking he was the guy who would lead them to glory. Gee whiz, he transferred from Michigan!!! He must be god's gift!!! The past couple seasons have seen a bunch of QBs transfer OUT of Iowa, including McNamara. I'm guessing Gronowski will be another revolving door Iowa QB whose name nobody outside of Iowa will remember in five years.
Brad Banks says hi.You'll have to excuse them as they're not used to seeing a completed pass further than 5 yards in the air.

@STPGopherfan - I think that comment was for you!Sure he’s got a strong enough arm to complete a 2-yard out, but how’s his waving hand?
I wouldn’t go position by position - if they have better WR’s who cares their team isn’t anywhere near as good as PSU and that is all that matters when comparing the two.We, as a whole, certainly not same level as Iowa. That said what level would you put our wide receivers at last year? Idiots like me are desperate for your wisdom.
Waving, pointing? It's all the same in Hawkeyeland...@STPGopherfan - I think that comment was for you!

And why does Iowa has a pretty steep incline about a yard off the practice field? It might be the point of highest elevation in Iowa! The video posted with the comment was not an eye-popping impressive a pass - bit of a wounded duck. Good placement but very average velocity. The pass did not match the posted headline.
You do realize Iowa City has hills at least as big as those in State College, right? An

Iowa is a hellhole. I try to drive through the state with my eyes closed when I have to go through. You do realize Iowa City has hills at least as big as those in State College, right?

The highest point in all of I0wa is Hawkeye Point at 1,600 feet, which is nowhere near Iowa city close to the Gopherland border and about 500 feet lower than Mount Nittany and Centre Hall Mountain. The highest land mass in Johnson County (around I0wa City) is roughly 900 feet above sea level. Thanks for playing. You do realize Iowa City has hills at least as big as those in State College, right?
I was noting that the elevation change in Iowa City itself is greater than that in State College. This is not a big deal - not sure I’d have played the “thanks for playing” card on your first turn. The highest point in all of I0wa is Hawkeye Point at 1,600 feet, which is nowhere near Iowa city close to the Gopherland border and about 500 feet lower than Mount Nittany and Centre Hall Mountain. Bushie being Bushie. I was actually thinking campus vs campus, but IC and SC seemed reasonable extensions. The point is it isn’t flat around Iowa’s campus as many people assume. **** all you ******* that only want to argue for argument’s sake.Seriously? Weird post all around... You do realize that Tussey Mountain Ski Area is located in Boalsburg? (Tussey has a summit elevation of 1,819 ft and a base elevation of ~1,300 ft or a "vertical drop" of 500'). Boalsburg is part of the State College Metro Area. I assume we're talking largest change in elevation (i.e., vertical drop), not highest elevation which is meaningless as elevation in US steadily rises as you move east-to-west such that Denver (last city in "the plains") is a mile high in elevation but flat as a pancake on its eastern flank. No way Iowa City Metro Area has a peak elevation with a vertical drop of 500' to Iowa City's base elevation - no freaking way. I'd be surprised if the greatest elevation from Iowa City's base elevation is more than 100' - very surprised.
It’s funny Iowas best offensive player the last 5 years has been its punterYou'll have to excuse them as they're not used to seeing a completed pass further than 5 yards in the air.
