Amen. It's amazing how the Franklin and Tomlin eras ended similarily in that they both lost the support of the vast majority of the fan base and it had become untenable for them to stay.
Franklin could not put a patch on Tomlin’s a$$ as a coach.

I suspect that most of the hate is due to people thinking three, four years ago what came to realization today, that it was time for him to go. Rodgers at QB was never going to work, the only reason the Steelers made the playoffs was because Baltimore didn’t make the plays they needed to. Really a freak season Baltimore had.
Typical Baltimore season…Lamar is the gift that keeps on giving!

It looks like the stepping down had nothing to do with lousy coaching, but something else. Check out steelersnation, com.

The players were all in on Mike. Interesting moment after Tomlin's farewell speech...
When Tomlin was done, every player in the room rose for a standing ovation. Tomlin tipped his cap and moved toward the door, where an impromptu receiving line formed, every player exchanging words and hugs with their now-former coach.
Ya......their lousy play every playoff is the reason hes gone.

Yes, and he was the main voice in the Steelers trading up for a worthless Michigan linebacker, as well as taking Kenny tiny hands in the first round when nobody else had more than a third round grade for him.
You have to wonder what Pickett and Pitt had on pants Tomlin??
