I didn't know that capitalism meant you don't have to honor contracts/agreements? I guess Shohei Ohtani should walk out on his current $700 million deal and threaten to play for the Yankees.
Athletes not honoring contracts and trying to get more money has been going on for years in our capitalist country. And in the NFL, contracts can be broken by the franchise at any time.
Because paying them above and beyond all the benefits they previously got has worked out so much better.

Almost all posters on this board would be considered extremely wealthy compared to the worldwide average. Yet for some reason none of us feels like a protected class.Also, wealthy is a protected class.
