I'm not sure why people get upset when they announce attendance figures. It's based on tickets sold, not on asses in the seats. Get over it.
Or for today, tickets given away…and tickets that would have been given away had anyone taken them…and an extra few thousand for good measure.

Rene perfected this methodology in the late 90s/early 2000s.

I remember the days when the admin. decried using paid attendance as the actual attendance was superior! Guess we are back to the rest of the pack again.

They announced 106k. It was probably 60-70k.
Absolutely incorrect. 95,000 easy to watch one of the worst programs in the country. Impressive actually, to me. What's not impressive is Pitt. they are playing a game to pretty much lock up their side of the ACC, beautiful day, and they might have had 35,000 there! The camera would pan throughout the game showing what a joke that place is.

95k? Not even close. We had about 13k no-shows in the Student Section alone. Actual attendance was in the high 60s.

East & West stands, aside from the student sections, very full. My guess would be somewhere between 80-85k in actual attendance.

40,000 people didn’t use their tickets.
Say average ticket price $60 = $2.4 million in money spent and ticket not used. That’s quite a bit of money imo.

there were 7000 tickets paid for and donated to military families-hopefully they mostly showed for the game! i hope in future
years record is much better as we have great players coming in and hopefully later games mean more!

Read an article about a year ago on attendance . I believe the Naval Academy was the only program to use actual turnstile attendance.
