Got cha. I did see where Beshear is giving his final Covid press briefing this afternoon. Article says “We could see simplified guidance from state health officials as soon as Monday. The new guidance could impact everything from masking to physical distancing at public events.” So I guess basically beshear going to pull a Biden and say Covid is all gone..no need to talk about it anymore 😉. Maybe FCPS had been told about this and was waiting for the beshear blessing 😁.

Oh, thank God! I have been waiting for God Beshear to tell me it was safe and get his permission to take the face diaper off! I have got all of the shots, I have a new mask for every day of the week, I have ostracized all of my friends who questioned holy Pfizer and our beloved saint governor.

Fingers crossed that they get this vaccine for my one year old and my pet hamster. I have had to quarantine both in isolation until the pharmaceutical companies and our righteous government give me the okay! I may keep wearing masks forever and if you choose not to, you're a Nazi who doesn't believe the science.

I walked my kids to their drop off and all but one kid didn't have a mask on and that kid's mom was standing there wiping tears from her eyes watching her kid go to school. Going to assume that it wasn't the kid's first day of school and this mom is yet another hysterical nut convinced her kid is in danger because other kids no longer have to wear the slave muzzle.

I happily walked my kids to school today mask-free. They were happy and so was I. That said, I realize this is your shtick, but why does that mother's reaction bother you so much? I could understand you being bothered if she was yelling at you or your kids about not wearing them, but who gives a **** how she is reacting in regard to her own situation?

Hey, I'll ask you why you and your side gave a crap to fight so hard to force masks on someone else's kids? I was never the one that tried to force anything on anyone else. That would be your side. This woman is the exact type of person who pushed to make kids wear masks all the time and considering I have eyeballs, I observed this and internally, shook my head at the hysteria this has caused.

Perin was on here saying a mother on his kid's volleyball team said she would homeschool if they made mask optional. So yeah, I feel sorry for the kids who are impacted by the neurosis of adults and parents such as the one I saw today.

There's no way that was true.
100% true. Not going to tell you my kids' elementary school but that absolutely happened as I walked my own kids to school. As I was walking back to my car, the mom was still standing there watching the kid, wiping her eyes.

You think these types of parents don't exist? They absolutely do. Like I said, it was one parent. Everyone else was good.

Someone who doesn't agree with you about everything is automatically on the other side? I thought masks were the right thing at the beginning but have been ready to get rid of them for months now. I feel like I'm one of the last people in the world who doesn't have a 'side'. Damn sure one of the last ones on this hellhole of a forum.

As Funky said, your story is almost assuredly ******** anyway, but if she was truly crying about this, she wasn't forcing anything on anybody. Sounds like she was keeping to herself.

Kids are happy and teachers are happy. Maybe 2 or 3 per class still wearing a mask and a handful of teachers. I've literally never seen some of these kids' full faces before. Everyone definitely has some pep in their step today.

Heck yeah it's a good day. My kids were thrilled walking into school. My son is 6 and this is the first day of normal school in his life. My daughter is 8 and likely doesn't remember her last one. I've never seen the inside of their school past the front office.

We haven't worn a mask anywhere else in months (aside from walking in the front doors at Rupp). This was the last hurdle in my mind. This feels like the last step toward full normal. Couldn't be happier.

Also couldn't care less if someone does decide to keep a mask on their kid.

No one really cares if others wear masks, but it can also pull at your heart strings when you see a child crying because a parent is forcing them to wear one when none of their peers are. It’s not like he went over and got in their face (like we’ve seen in thousands of videos in the reverse situation).

Both of those things can exist at the same time.

If that were the case I'd agree, but that wasn't even close to the story presented. It was a supposed mother crying because the mandate is over.

If it were your situation, and I don't doubt that will happen (kids upset about being forced to wear them), I'm with you.

Oh, my fault. Was reading through too quickly. Thought it was the kids tears she was wiping away.

FYI, CDC has updated their Early Childhood Guidance to align with other community settings and not suggest masking when in yellow. So if your day care is still masking, make sure to notify them.

What a bunch of evil f*cks to mask 2-5 year olds anyway.

Shewww..finally you all don’t have to hear from me…for a while…till November when it’s time to vote out School board members. I’ll give ya all a break till then 😉.
Is school board non-partisan?
Does every current member have an opponent?
Primary is May 17.

School board members are elected to terms of 4 years. They are non partisan races but based on their Facebook page content/action/other organizations they belong to, I believe all of our current FCPS board are democrats. I think there are good democrats and good republicans. I have an issue when politics influence a kids education as we saw with the kids the past several years. This November there are two school board members up for re-election..Tyler Murphy and Stephanie Spires. Both kept our kids locked out of the classrooms the last two years and kept them masked when they did go back….among other issues I have with them. Tyler is the FCPS board chair and is on the NEA (National Educator Association) board of directors. Tyler does not have any kids and teaches in Boyle County. Him and Andy beshear appear to be close (I think Tyler was an intern for him). I get the feeling Tyler has further political ambitions. If you are in District 2 or District 4, I highly encourage you to research whoever decides to run.

Forgot to plug our Facebook groups. Join us 😁:
Fayette County Kids Matter
Kentucky Kids Matter

Currently over 3,000 members in local group and over 37,000 in state group (democrats and republicans I assume..we don’t ask). Our local group derived from and works together with the state group. The group has always advocated for choice and accountability. Choice for in person learning/virtul learning, choice to mask/not to mask, and in any situation (even non Covid related) hold the school board and FCPS administration accountable to do what’s in the best interest of kids and teachers within FCPS.

I have young twins, both of which have moderate to severe delayed speech for their age. While that is more common in twins (since they can talk to and understand each other regardless), undoubtedly it’s been exacerbated by masking in their preschool the past two years. Their speech teacher has said that there’s been a huge uptick in delayed speech in children since the pandemic (surprise).

It makes my blood boil just thinking about it. It’s probably going to take at least a year or two to correct. This “kids are resilient” BS is just that - total ********.
