We have now seen 5 out of 6 episodes for season 1. I'm pretty sure that this show sucks. Surprising.

The walking dead kinda sucks too the last few seasons, but for some reason I keep watching.

Hmm... I suppose I'm in the minority. I've enjoyed it so far. I'm trying not to overthink it too much.

I did think the torture stuff was ridiculous. It was easy to see the military personnel were cracking...not just the kid being tortured, but many others. I don't know why he needed to be tortured to get him to talk; he obviously has a thing for the daughter and would likely want to protect her.

I kind of liked the black guy at the beginning of the last episode. He gave me a bit of a Governor vide...smart, dark, manipulative...hope to see more of him.

One of my biggest issues is that it seems strange that the military would cordon off an entire neighborhood, then decide to pull out, but plan to kill all the people they have been protecting. They are already killing a lot of innocent people that are outside the fence. What kind of idiotic commander thinks any of this is a good idea? All it is going to do is cause the soldiers to turn against their superiors and go AWOL or kill the leaders. They didn't say one way or the other in the last episode, but I figured the superior officer (who Travis had been talking to regularly) who was killed in the house, died due to friendly fire.

You have to remember, that these people have no idea how long the walkers will continue to be mobile after they turn. Not enough time has gone by to know that they can continue to be a threat for longer than 2 or 3 weeks. Therefore, it doesn't make sense to exterminate all the people inside the fence. Just leave them and bug out. Maybe they will just eliminate each other and die off if the soldiers get away from the area.

Either the guys commanding the soldiers are complete idiots, or the writing just really stinks.

They weren't going to kill all the people inside the fence, only the sick ones.

I'm with Chillwell, I think it's been decent, especially the last couple of episodes. The same type holes you are poking in this storyline (based upon your own knoweldge from the original TWD series) can easily be poked in most episodes of the original series.

I like it but the wife doesn't like it in fairness I don't think she is a huge WD fan either. It is kinda slow but what show isn't in season 1. Lost might be the only show that season 1 just grabbed me and sucked me right in. Even Breaking Bad took a season and a half to get great. This is a fictional show so if they overlook a few small details I can over look them also most the time. I also thought when the army was talking about killing everyone it was outside the secure zones like outside the fence not the healthy people. To tell you the truth I don't even know the characters names yet really and I have watched every episode.

Also if you wanted to live in peace in the zombie world that is the Walking Dead find an island take a bunch of guns and ammo and kill all the zombies on said island. Then only allow a safe amount of people to repopulate said island. This way when one dies there will be enough people to put them down so an out break doesn't happen but not enough to not notice someone about to turn. Islands and tree houses I am telling you.

I have enjoyed the show from the perspective of how it started and people's reactions to WTF is happening. Kind of stuff that many are predicting (not from zombies) from collapse of the financial system, terrorist attacks, EMP attack etc.

Thoughts on the last episode? Really stepped up the action for sure. Nice to see a good swarm again. Thought it finished strong.

I agree that it finished strong. I'm really interested to see if they end up on the yacht. Would make for a new an interesting story line not seen on the original show. At first, I was thinking that it would take the suspense out of the story, but then realized they would have to try to find safe ports for fuel/food/water, and would end up being forced to abandon the ship at some point.

I agree it ended strong. Would have been interesting to me if the 2 kids got taken by the Army guys taking off, but not sure that would have made sense. Be interesting to see what the guy with the boat has planned.

I've enjoyed the show all along; and as I mentioned earlier, I thought the black guy was really interesting...most intriguing character on the show, imo.

Good ending, and I like the yacht idea.

BTW...Can zombies swim? Will sharks eat them? Will zombies bite the sharks, turning them into zombie sharks? Hey, I think I may have just created Syfy's next great franchise: Sharkombies!

Just based on logic and what we have seen on the shows.

-Zombies can't swim. Swimming requires coordinated motions of arms, hands, legs, feet.
-Zombies might be able to walk on the bottom of a body of water, but, it would depend upon their buoyancy. The only way it would work would be if they were super dense and devoid of buoyancy. Otherwise, they would not be able to generate momentum and continue to move in a particular direction.
- They might try to bite a shark, but I doubt they could catch one and hold onto it.
-I am dubious as to Sharkombies, since we have seen no signs that the disease can infect any species other than humans on the shows.

I expect they will get on the yacht, but they can only stay out at sea so long before needing to hit land for provisions, so they probably won't be on it for too long.

Love the sea aspect. It brings into play the often speculated defenses for the zombie apocalypse.

It also introduces the potential for countless environmental variations and strategic decisions.

I don't think zombies can swim, but someone WILL f-up and let zombies on the boat. For sure. With nowhere to go.

Lastly - I think zombie Sharks is such a brilliant idea there is no way to screw it up. Zombie Sharks can crawl into land. Onto boats. Have tiny well protected brains, etc. How this hasn't been a scify movie yet is inexplicable.

It was the best episode out of the bunch, but that brings up a salient point about what they've given us so far, as much as it says about the quality of the last episode. Oh well, they don't have much of a way to go but hope and hopefully they can take some of the criticism about their first 6 episodes and step it up for the rest of the season, which resumes next year.

Ooooooo....the sea. Imagine if they ran across an aircraft carrier drifting around with zombies all over the place. Now THAT would be freaky. Not sure how you would incorporate that into the story, but it would be cool.

Honestly, this has been something to pass our time while we wait for TWD to spin back up. Kinda like Fallout Shelter has been a wonderful time waster until Fallout 4 comes out on November 10th...

In the world of TWD and FTWD, I doubt it. The shows would lose a lot of luster if there were no zombies. I would think it is difficult to do anything "to death" if one is already dead.

To me it was a lot like the Walking Dead (shocking!). Highly inconsistent but not awful. You can't think about it too much.
