Feel bad for the fans that paid $ to watch that 1st and goal

abomination.

Did you not get this out of your system in the other thread? You posted like 20 times in it.

They said Snell had been working on a pass out of the wildcat, might had been a good play or an interception. Could you imagine the outrage of an int by a rb?

They have had pretty good success with the wildcat in the red zone all season.

We are obviously limited in the passing game, especially with a short field.

I'll be glad to have a 2 dimensional offense in the future, but we are limited right now.

How many games have you watched. What percentage of red zone chances have we went from the wildcat. It's what we do, just didn't get in this time. Has worked well all seadon

Georgia's boys are another animal on that D line.

I'm not arguing that. But we did run the entire series expect for a third down and move it 50 yards on the ground to get there. Not like it was something that hadn't worked all game. Easy to call in hindsight. Your hoping benny can get two to three the first two to get it at the 2/3 and a chance to pound it in.

Especially when they know what play is coming, have just called a timeout and aren't worried about getting beat on a long pass since we are on the 9 yard line. LOL, PUTRID play calling there on 1st and goal with a running back that's completely gassed.

Since you have made so many posts regarding this - and not to say you are wrong, but what would you have dialed up?

They knew a pass was coming on 3rd down.

I think 2nd down was the down to be creative.

The wildcat brought us to the 9 yard line, so you pretty much run it on 1st down as well.

But 2nd...?

Could've mixed up the run a bit, but NO way you pass there with Johnson, not even on that 3rd down regardless of what Stoops said. Nope Nope Nope....

I never had a problem with the Wildcat on 1st down, although I would have came out of it being it was 1st and goal at the 9. If it was 1st and goal from the 5 or inside I would have supported it more. I feel like we should have gave ourselves the pass option. I like Gran, but I didn't like his play calling last night. I absolutely despised it after the turnover at the start of the 3rd. I feel like the game could have been won even with the mistakes we made if we had have been less predictable. I'm proud of our effort but I feel like we left too much meat on the table. It was our time to make a statement but we clammed up.

It is hard to trust SJ on the short field.
Jet sweep woulda been a nice try on 1st or second down
Calling for SJ to through a fade was a horrible call. ANY other pass play or off tackle run would have been better. IMO

I understand being consertive and knowing it's incomplete or a TD; but too low % chance at a TD for my liking

If I was the man responsible for the call there ain't no way in hell im going to allow Johnson to throw the ball to the other team when I had the field goal in my back pocket. He's damned if he do and if he don't.
Yep....team is very limited with this QB...he's not even athletic enough to be a running threat....

That's really the only problem I had with the series: I'd have thrown the fade or a dump pass, on 2nd. On 3rd they knew it was coming.

I hate we lost, but we are improving, IMO.

Agree. Passing should have been attempted sooner, or at least a pass look presented only to set up 3rd down run. SJ throwing that fade made me look at MacGinnis as soon as I saw what was happening. Of course, run a draw on 3rd and 7, come up short, and watch the boo birds take flight...

That Badet play killed me. Had that not happened, we would not be fretting about the first and goal at the nine.

Regardless, even the negative Nellies have to be somewhat impressed with our team. Major, definite improvement.
